I've Finished my Taxes today!
« on: October 14, 2020, 05:24:51 pm »
It was such a total pain in the butt bc I couldn't find anything I needed to complete it. Everything went missing.  :BangHead:I had to give the information to my Big Sis cuz she does my taxes every year. Anyway, she finally finished it with a day to spare & I'm getting around 500+ bucks back.  :highfive:I seem to get smaller & smaller returns each year but, it's better than nothing or better than paying Uncle Sam! Anyway, I take back the times when we were younger & in a fit of anger I'd wished my big sis dead. Lol, just kidding Sis & Thanks! Great, my house is now a total mess everything thrown everywhere like a tornado blew through! :sad1: After tax return day clean up day for me!

Congratulations - I know the relief of finally getting them done.  And to get a refund to boot.  Time to celebrate - if we could only leave the house in order to do so :P

Any refund is a good refund regardless how big or small.

We had all of our paper work into the accountant my March fifteenth and she still filed extensions. We are searching for a new accountant at this time. Ours takes weeks to return calls, charges a lot (which is a write off but we still hate to spend money), and does not seem very sharp with regard to filing on smaller corporations, investments or directing us to points where it makes more sense for my wife and I to file separately. I was set to file separately because my wife makes a lot of money and by filing separately I could still contribute seven thousand dollars a year to a Roth IRA. I also wanted advice on how much money I could put into individual 401K accounts for different business ventures I have. The accountant did not provide the answer until June.

I do our income taxes myself. For 18 yrs, I did it by hand (my preference) on paper. The past 2 yrs. I used turbo tax. I usually aim for $5000 return between state and local. Sometimes it isn't as good of a refund. It's hard because we have a rental that is income, but obviously we wait until tax time to get the 1099 to pay taxes; so that takes from our return amt. luckily last year we had a pretty big deduction to offset.

That was my initial reaction!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Thank you for filing taxes. I was surprised to find out that an elected official has paid a total of less than eight hundred dollars for income taxes (to the United States) in the last fifteen years. However, this same elected official has paid more than one hundred and eighty eight thousand dollars to the Chinese Government between 2013 and 2015 with a secret Chinese bank account. My daughter had to wait eleven months to get government clearance for a job that she is working at and has: never paid money to ex-lover's to remain silent during an election, never bankrupted any corporations, had a Chinese and Singapore bank account (neither of which  had a balance greater than one hundred dollars), always told the truth. Not sure why a candidate's son is being attacked when the elected official lives in the dark.

Wow! I'm really happy for you, man! We all want to celebrate, I see. If only we could get out of the house and have a few cocktails to celebrate our tax victory. You have your own business, don't you? I own two small bakeries, too. Previously, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to formalize my business and the idea remained just a dream. That's why it took me so long to decide to use https://taxfyle.com/business-incorporation-services, but it turned out much better than I thought it would. Now I have plans to open a third bakery

I always do my own taxes but it's getting kinda difficult to do it nowadays. When I started to join other apps like I needed somebody else to do it for me. :-\
