Our county has stated that trick or treating is not allowed due to the CoVid pandemic. We will not be answering our door out of respect for the county's wishes. We have been invited to go out to dinner with some friends but my, instead, opt to sat home, make a nice dinner, and have a bottle of wine in front of the fireplace. The temperature is supposed to drop over fifty degree this Saturday, snow expected on Sunday and the ten day forecast does not look to be getting better in the daily lead up to Halloween. The last several years have had bad weather and the trick or treating population seems to have diminished to less than thirty visitors. The adults still get out with their kids and we like to provide warm drinks and cocktails to help them through the night.

I think it has been losing steam for a few years.  Esp with so many places having something like the trunk or treat or where all the local businesses get together and set up in a parking lot or park or something.  Suppose to be safer.  We still have areas that have a ton of houses and kids still go there.  Then there are some ritzy areas that give away full sized candy bars and parents take their kids there.   Looks to me like it would be safer to go house to house than for 1000 people to be clustered up together in a parking lot trying to get candy from 40 cars in an empty parking lot.

i certainly enjoyed trick or treating as a child. i have lived in a condo for several years and we never get many visitors on Halloween. i know it will definately be different this year but i hope the kids will have a chance to Trick or treat at least in the neighborhoods or churches etc. There have been so many changes this year the kids need something fun! :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :peace:

I actually am a little bit surprised trick or treating is still so big, I fear it will eventually become a thing of the past as everything in the world has to be bubble wrapped for safety. The more you think about it it kind of breaks all the safety rules we're all given the rest of the year. I won't open my door for one uniformed guy with a clipboard the other 364 days of the year but a group of masked strangers on halloween? Sure! Hi I'm a stranger, take some candy like they told you never to do.

More and more the ignorance and paganism of holidays have come full circle to our times.

The past isnt the past anymore.Truth has surfaced more and more in an ungodly world.

No one has went trick or treating in years. Most people just go to local events where they give out candy. It is safer and lots of fun. So far those events are still happening.

Some are and some aren't.  They still have to adhere to the mandates in the area they live in.  Our county does not have any kind of mandate but I know some of the churches that use to participate in this are not doing it this year.  I heard something about some churches that have done this in the past joining together and doing a drive thru thing.  Telling people not to get out of their car.  Just drive by and we will hand your kid a bag of candy.

I thought that my neighborhood was going to cancel trick-or-treating, but as I type this post, they are out in full force...which I happy for. I absolutely love Halloween, and I love passing out candy to happy kids!

I've heard some rumblings about certain places wanting to cancel trick or treating this year for covid.  Seems like we're always hearing California news instead of our own local info. We haven't really heard anything here so I guess I'm still going to buy some candy. What's going on in your areas? Will you be answering the door?

Hi!

I have never celebrated Halloween as it is my birthday. So as per usual, I won't be participating ya.
