Vaccines!!
« on: November 18, 2020, 07:05:50 am »
It's so exciting to see that there are coronavirus vaccines with potential to help so many people!

Whats crazy though is that many people don't even get their flu vaccines....so will people take the coronavirus ones?

What is crazy is that so many are willing to take this. Go for it. Or are you one of the ones who say you can' take them but everyone else needs to take to to protect you? lol ::)

I do not take the flu shot. Never have. And I have never had the flu. They are wanting people for trials for this vaccine and want people to take it so you go line up to be first. I am sure they will welcome you with open arms.  Maybe you will live.  Maybe it will kill you.

And it is not a "coronavirus" vaccine.  It is a Covid19 vaccine.  There is a difference.  Coronavirus is any respiratory illness including the common cold.

Today it was announced that the FDA approved the first home testing for COVID and the results will be known in 30 minutes. The only requirement is you need a Dr. Rx but how hard would that be to get one? Hopefully, that will alleviate the long lines for testing at sites. All those people in the liens to get tested. Why? I doubt they have symptoms so why waste time in lines to get tested? You could be a negative test and  later the same day, be positive. I really think it's a waste of time.

I've never gotten a flu shot, and I've also never had the flu. I haven't even gotten a cold in several years. Some people just have better immunity than others. I think diet and exercise plays a large part, and also genetics.

I heard 40% of Covid cases are asymptomatic, so they want everyone to get tested. Getting tested without symptoms makes sense if you know you've been around someone else that tested positive or maybe you went to a gathering recently. But for the rest of us, well, how often? Every month? Every week? If you don't have symptoms, there's also a good chance the test will be negative even if you are infected. I think it makes more sense to work on a reliable and accurate antigen test, but that doesn't seem to be a priority.

How hard would it be to get a doc script for the test? Well I would say pretty hard. And that is stupid because you have to go to the doctor.  ::)   Not sure what difference the "long lines for testing" makes. You are not around anyone but yourself. Most of the ones are drive thru.  I agree the majority of people being tested do not need a test.  They have no symptoms and they aren't sick.  They just want tested.  Then they get a false sense of security.  They get the test and then go to Walmart and every where else.  Two days later you get the results that your test was negative. BUT you were exposed at Walmart 20 minutes after your test and now you have the virus but you think you are fine because you have a negative test.  It is all foolish.

I am not sure my diet has a lot to do with it. lol  I do take vit C and a couple of other supplements that are suppose to boost the immune system.  I was sick last Jan.  I try to distance from people during the fall and winter because of colds and flu and most people will go to town no matter how sick they are.  They go to the doctor and they are tested for the flu and it is positive and they stop by Walmart on their way home.  ::)  And washing your hands is not going to keep you from getting sick. But that is beside the point.

I honestly do not believe the asymptomatic stuff.  I think those are false positives.  A lot of people agree.  But those who do not just want to fight about it.  I agree with your question of how often then do you get tested.  You would need to be tested every single time you leave your home.  You can be exposed any where and every where.  I am sure I have been exposed more than once.  And yet I am not sick.  Some people will get it and others will not.  From what I am seeing lately people are fine today and then they next day they are so sick they can't get out of bed.

Not sure why you think this.  They have been saying for close to a year there will be a vaccine available and the B  had nothing to do with it.
