New Decade
« on: January 05, 2021, 01:09:54 pm »
So....have we started a new decade this year finally? Or was it last year?

My argument is that its this year because the calendar goes from 1 BC to 1 AD...there is no 0, therefore, 1 is the first year in the decade, not 0

I do not understand your question. A decade is ten years regardless of when it starts. Right?  :-\

If you start from when Jesus was born until 10 AD, it would be a decade. 2000 AD would be 200 decades and that would make 2020 a total of 202 decades. Then we have to start again with decade counting, if you're into that.

https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/when-was-jesus-born/

But we do know the exact date of Passover <Jesus death> every year?In 2021 it is 3/27.

Why does the bible reveal day of Jesus death and NOT his birth?Simple.

“Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)

Command Jesus gave to his apostles right before he would die.

Jesus was conceived at Christmas and was born September 29. I watch Sheperd's Chapel and this s where I learned this and it makes sense.

God makes NO mention of Jesus birth in bible....only a book that has more then proven its divinity for 1000s of yrs, translated into 1000s of languages and predicted the future to prove it REALLY is from the TRUE God and YOU support some Babylonish BS!!!????Actually there was a better chance Jesus was born 9/29 then 12/25.....but again Bible doesnt say.

LOLLLLLLLLL!!!!

This post made to help those that might be on the fence RE truth!!!

My point in answering original question RE a decade is,yes a decade would have started the day Jesus was born till he was 10 yrs old.

The bible gives NOOOOOOOOOOO precise date of his birth......just his death.

Dontcha think if God wanted us to know exact date of his birth he woulda provided that in his word?

We dont know how old EVE was when she died, but God let us know how old Adam was.

Many other examples too. Some prophets didnt understand what they were preaching cos the prophecies had later fulfillment after they had died.

The book of Daniel is a good example of that.He didnt have a clue what he was writing down cos fulfillment came long after he was gone.He even mentions that he didnt know.

The bible says the earth is round and hung upon nothing in Old testament.

Proof came in 20th century when man was able to explore space and backed up what God had already said.Think about it.Those that didnt read or understand bible, some thought the earth was flat.Isaiah 40:22 spoke it was round and hung upon nothing.

In my beliefs I think once the decade hits a zero 2020, it is a new decade. the next decade will start in 2030 then 2040 etc.  :)

Makes sense to me.  Besides, we want to forget 2020 anyway - don't we? ???

Technically, the decade starts this year, 2021.

But for simplicity, the decades usually start at 0. It doesn't seem right to say the "90's" decade goes from 1991 to 2000. It makes more sense to say 1990 to 1999, because well, 2000 was no longer a 90-something year.

    Yes, I understand your question.
Is it 2020 or 2021 to start a new decade?
A week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday.
Does anyone know when a new decade start?
