Pledge of Allegiance
« on: March 01, 2021, 10:42:43 am »
I just learned from my wife that out of maybe a dozen early and pre-teen girls in my daughter's dance class, that only our daughter and one other dancer (both of whom attend the local Catholic school) are able to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. None of the other girls (who all go to various public schools around the area) have any clue how it goes.

I'm not sure how or why this even came up - they obviously do not say the pledge at dance class, but you know how strange topics can arise among young kids...

Maybe I've been under a rock, but this revelation was shocking to me. I think it is absolutely horrible that these kids - born and raised in the United States - cannot recite the Pledge of Allegiance. And it is all due to the cancel culture and the mentality of keeping religion out of public schools - all because of the single phrase "One nation under God"...

Not surprising that just a few weeks ago the House Democrats also forbid reciting the Pledge before House Judiciary Committee meetings. This was in response to a Republican committee member's request that they show their collective bipartisan unity by reciting the Pledge before each meeting as a committee.  Nope! Sorry! Can't do it. Democrats in control would not allow it.  [[Joe Biden's pledge for unity sure was the biggest line of bullshit ever spouted by an incoming President]]

Well, UGetPaid, it's positively horrifying to me. When I was growing up it was an institution. We said it every day before class. It's so sad to keep dumbing down children in school.

That being said, I'm suggesting that anyone who's interested listen to Red Skelton's commentary on the Pledge of Allegiance. The following website has the words with explanation and then the video of him saying them. It's wonderful.

Thanks for the video link, linderlizzie. I had not seen that before, but it is highly appropriate to this conversation and was quite prophetic.

Bible Questions Answered

Who really rules this world?
Scenes of war, crime, violence, and disasters
If God were the ruler of this world, would there be so much suffering?

Many people believe that the true God is the ruler of this world. But if that were true, would the earth be so filled with suffering? (Deuteronomy 32:4, 5) According to the Bible, the world is under the control of someone evil.óRead 1 John 5:19.

John 5:19 tells us the answer is Satan has been permitted to rule this world and he is referred to as a god.

So yes the phrase one nation under god is appropriate.....or maybe 1 nation under A god.

The bible says there are many gods but only one God the father.Father means life-giver and Jehovah is that NOT any other god.

And as a reminder to be more convinced remember Satan offered Jesus ALL the kingdoms of the world for an act of worship.Jesus responded that Jehovah ONLY deserves that and told him to go away.

Read about the 3 Hebrews who refused to worship King Nebuchadnezzars image.......

I find that very shocking as well, I thought this was something all children learned in school.

It used to be... I went to public school in Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2. We said the Pledge of Allegiance daily and we even prayed in Kindergarten before eating our cookies and milk (this was in the late 70's - so I am dating myself obviously).  Prayer and the Pledge continued to be daily practice in Catholic school for me throughout the 1980s.

But my wife went to public school around that same time and she said that even then the Pledge was becoming optional and already being phased out.

In my mind that is absolutely criminal. It's no wonder that many in society today have zero respect/pride in the idea of Making America Great Again. You reap what you sow and you deserve what you get I suppose...
