Annoying Members

Most members on FC are friendly, rational, kind and polite among other things.

But as with any other site , there are a few that are annoying and unpleasant in one way or another.

I choose to ignore these persons. I do not respond to their discussions or posts because you are just encouraging them if you do. There is also an ignore member button at the bottom of their posts which I have never tried.

I have used the ignore button a few times, but the problem is when someone else replies to the "ignored" person, I still see their posts anyway.

I guess we are all annoying to somebody. I ignore the people that I think want to get something bad going. I can't stand that when I see it on Facebook or anywhere else. 

I worry sometimes that my posts might be offensive, but I never try to antagonize anyone intentionally. I have a lot of fun reading and posting on this site. It's actually one of the most free sites to air your views right now. 

I used the word "I" WAY too much in this post. Sorry.

I am minimally active on another forum where if you do not conform to the political left, you are branded a hater/racist/homophobe and you risk being banned from the site by the admin. It is not even a political topic discussion forum, but every now and then politics enters into the discussion. I am only there for the primary content that the site was designed for and do not want to get banned myself. So even though it makes my typing fingers itch tremendously, I choose to stay silent on 99.9% of the threads that turn into agenda pushing brainwashed refusals to listen to opposing viewpoints.


Despite the fact that there are differences of opinion in this forum, I find it refreshing that people can actually express their differences of opinion without it getting too one sided or personal. There are moments, sure. But it is such a better dynamic where actual free speech is permitted rather than censored.

I have been there. I am a moderate independent and I enjoy all sides of a conversation. But i have learned to keep my mouth and my fingers shut. I no longer tell anyone the truth about what I really think or feel.   It's a shame.

This is a great forum but every so often, there has been a member or two posting or responding for no good reason and I prefer to ignore those members. I do not like arguments or confrontations even in the off line world

I take one cruise a year or I try to. I have sailed 6 times with Norwegian Cruise Lines  and have a 7th booked. I am on Cruise Critic and among other things, they have discussion boards for every cruise line. (I had no idea how many cruise lines there are in the world)

I posted on the Norwegian Board that I was disappointed in how Norwegian handled a problem that I had on my last cruise.  I will not go into details here because it is so long and so involved.

i was slaughtered. I was accused of being among other things the kind of person who deliberately falls down in supermarkets so as to make money by suing.   It got so bad that Cruise Critic was forced to pull ny discussion and they do not usually do this.

So it is not just about politics or religion.

And if a person were offended nonetheless, the issue is them. I mean, why should their feelings supersede your intentions?

I do not find you annoying.  I like your posts.  You always have something to contribute and that is one of the purposes of this Forum.
