I wish they'd had those kinds of games when I was a kid!  I could have benefited from anything involving math!  Your post reminds me of how I got my daughter to practice her violin.  The key in all this "education" is making it fun.  She was a big ham, and would play for anyone who passed by and gave her some attention.  So I took her to the park to practice, and as long as she caught the eye of even one person, she would continue to play/practice.
