« on: November 05, 2009, 07:37:29 pm »
I was just thinking this

I know alot of Americans don't have a medical, dental, or rly anything really

even a 401k

i know much of that is due to the whole economy

so I was wondering?

Who does have any of those and what is your thought about those who don't?

:sad1:I don't have a dental plan, and I need to visit the dentist very badly.  I don't know what to do. I have medicare, and medical, and nether one of them pays for dental, or glasses anymore. I have been hunting up my old glasses, to use in case the ones I am wearing breaks. I am luckier than some people, because I do get some things paid for, but what I need, like dental care, and eye care, I don't have.

My dad's job offers medical and dental but all we can afford is the dental.

I don't have health ins. because I'm self employed. And I can't get ins. in Oregon because I have pre-existing Diabetes.

Because I'm self-employed, I buy my own health insurance.  I have a $2000 deductible, so I pay pretty much everything out of pocket.  I just want major coverage in case something happens.  I don't have dental insurance because after doing the math a lot of them don't make sense.  Most plans that an individual can buy only cover $500-$1000 a year and you have to pay anywhere between $30-$50 a month.  I just pay cash for dental, glasses, etc.

I have Kaiser, and I'm pretty happy with it. However, I think we should switch to a single payer program like the ones Europe and Canada have. That way, everyone would be covered, and health care would not be absorbing nearly 20% of this nation's GDP. Our present system is causing 12,000 unnecessary deaths a year while it bleeds our economy dry.
