Rent or buy a tux for a fancy wedding
« on: September 01, 2023, 03:16:42 am »
Have a wedding to go to, and it will be a fairly fancy affair.

My understanding is black tie / tux for the guys.

What say the bogleheads...? Rent? Buy?

I'm 30s, so not a growing boy (at least up!), so could get more use out of it if buying.

Not interested in spending $1500 to buy. But something ok quality for $400-$700? Same recommendations as for suits or unique to tux?

If you don't go to many fancy functions, then I would suggest you rent instead of buying.  Why buy something that you will wear only one time?

I have owned several of them I bought from a Tuxedo Rental shop used in the $50 to $100 range that served me well for many years. Of course, at that time I sang lead in a Barbershop Quartet so I used it often.

The beauty of owning a tuxedo is its versatility. It's a timeless piece that can be worn on various occasions, and you'll always be well-prepared for formal events.

The choice between renting and buying a tux for a fancy wedding is a common conundrum. With a black tie dress code in mind, you're on the right track for a sophisticated look. Considering your age and the potential for future use, investing in a tux might be a smart move. At your 30s, you've likely found your size, and that's a plus for longevity.
While spending $1500 might not align with your budget, you'll be pleased to know that there are quality options available in the $400-$700 range. https://www.gentlemansguru.com/product-category/wedding-tuxedos/ offers a range of wedding tuxedos that could be a perfect match. These tuxedos not only meet your budget but also offer the quality and style needed for a memorable event.

Being in the funeral business I own a few different suits. I don't know how long I will be in the business but it has been interesting

I own a tux and it makes me feel fancy even when I'm not wearing it. Besides, many tux rentals are nearly as expensive as buying outright

When deciding whether to rent or buy a tux for a fancy wedding, it really depends on how often you plan to wear it again. Renting is a great option if it’s a one-time event—typically more affordable and hassle-free. However, if you think you’ll attend several formal events in the future, buying a tux could be a better investment. Similarly, if you're splurging for the wedding, you might want to match the experience with something like a rolex submariner replica to complete your look. It adds that extra touch of class without the commitment of a genuine Rolex.

I had a genuinely great experience using hot finder site. The sign-up process was quick and straightforward, so I was able to start browsing profiles within minutes. I really liked how clean and modern the interface looks — it makes everything easy to navigate. The search filters helped me find people who matched my interests and preferences without wasting time.

Yo! I found a flyer on the university library notice board about finding a statistics homework aid for struggling students. I was losing my mind trying to figure out regression analysis on my own. I had a long streak of academic losses and was losing money on extra textbooks that were useless. But I won a scholarship after my latest project was cleared. I managed to earn a high ranking in my year and I am satisfied with the progress I have made recently.
