How to calculate credit card processing fees?
« on: October 06, 2025, 09:05:02 am »
Hello everyone, before choosing a merchant service provider, did you calculate how much you would need to pay for fees per year? How did you make these calculations? It would be convenient if each merchant provider had a calculator on their website that would allow you to determine this, but not everyone has implemented this.

How many sites of different merchant service providers have you looked at? I actually initially looked for various articles and comparisons between different merchant service providers and found a site with the option to Calculate Credit Card Processing Fees: https://merchantservices-usa.com/calculator , you can not compare each of the platforms separately, but immediately enter your data and you will see the amounts for the annual fees in each merchant provider in the list. Stax merchant provider suited me the most, but if you have low transaction volumes, then it will not be very suitable for you. And how do you accept card payments, or are you learning now for the future?

I’ve browsed a few provider sites, but nothing super in-depth. That kind of calculator where you can just plug in your own numbers sounds really helpful — definitely saves a ton of time compared to manual comparisons. I’ve heard good things about Stax too, though yeah, the flat monthly fee makes it tough for low-volume setups. Right now I’m mostly researching for the future, so this is super relevant. Do you use Stax for a physical store, online, or both?
