This is what is wrong with political dialogue today: we are constantly presented with the false dilemma.  Who says that's all there is?

I am an Independent.  I am ideologically opposed to the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party has lost its foundation since the Regan administration.  I will vote for candidates of any party, so long as they represent my ideals and stand by their platforms after election.

I am an Independent because candidates and elected officials are rarely true to the ideals of their parties anymore.  I have Libertarian principles, because I believe in a small government that does not interfere with my money and my lifestyle.

I am a Democrat and proud of it! I believe in President Obama and I know we will go far with him. He will create change.

when i first registered about five years ago,
i put myself down as democrat.

but since then, i've come to realize that it doesn't matter
which side you're on. the two parties fight for the power
to uphold a completely corrupt government.

and i'm not saying anarchy here...
i'm simply saying that republicans &democrats are more
like subcategories than two completely different genres.
power, money, and stupid decisions.

its all the same  :bs:

While the Democrats are far from perfect, the Republicans are unspeakable. For example, Sen. Shelby (R- Alabama) brought our country's business to a complete halt because there were a couple of useless pork-barrel projects he wanted for his state. As a group, they oppose anything and everything the President wants--regardless of how good it might be for the country. They would happily burn their country to the ground, as long as they get to rule over the ash heap.

Right on.  As idiotic and incompetent as the Dems usually are, at least they try to govern the country.  Republicans only care about their own power, everything else be damned.
