I have a big container that I put everything in. I want to get one of those seperators for the bottom that has a seperate compartment for each ornament. I use the ties for trash bags to wrap up the lights so they do not get tangled and Have a tall container for the left over wrapping paper and tape and bows. Merry Christmas

We throw them in boxes marked Christmas, then we move, I don't think we have lived anywhere for more than a year so far. I want to buy a house, so we dont' have to move anymore.

We purchase large green and red Rubbermaids/Totes to store all the Christmas decorations.  We take our time to carefully package up all the ornaments and decorations into their original boxes once they are time to come down.  It also makes it much easier to take out and decorate come next November.  Items which don't have packaging get wrapped in bubble wrap.  Once everything is packed up nicely, the Rubbermaids go on large shelves buit in the basement specifically to hold the Christmas, Halloween, and Easter decorations.

What Oryon20 said, get some large Rubbermaid containers, keep the house lights in the boxes you buy them in and the ornaments in shoe boxes or some home made cardboard seperators, they are usually fragile so the more protection the better. Goodluck and happy holidays.

I buy a device called Hefty and store them there for a week until they're transported to the county Christmas Storage unit.
