My daughter is one and eats everything. Does he have teeth yet?
I just make sure everything is cut small enough for her to chew.
Tonight for example, we had steak, taters, and corn on the cob. She loved gnawing on the corn and the steak was cut so small she barely had to chew it.
She loves all veggies and fruits.
Sandwiches, eggs, chicken, etc.

I have a 2 year old -- he is becoming "picky" in the last few weeks, but a 1 year old, if he has teeth can eat just about anything.
fruit - soft/canned, banana's, applesauce - can add variety with cinnamon or mixed with other pureed fruits for flavoring
Veggies - anything soft cooked - my son loved sweet potatoes, roasted in the oven
If he chews well - toast was a favorite as well as dry cereals (cheerios, kix, shredded wheat is what my son likes best)
Meat -- this is tough in the 1 year old age group - but my son loved spaghetti/meatballs, so I also offerred meatballs in other forms, with other sauces and over mashed potatoes, etc for variety. he also did chicken casseroles (i would basically make thick chix noodle soup). Mac & cheese was also enjoyed
Another protein source --> yogurt. My son really enjoyed yogurt (now he picks and chooses when he wants it)
also introduce water (with flouride) so that he will learn to like drinking water and it also helps to rinse the food particles/sugars off his teeth which helps with dental care.

Not much to add after this great reply :notworthy:... That is basically it. make sure you give him veggies and fruits now so he learns to like them. Oh and make sure he doesnt see you/hear you saying "ugh I don't like ___" cuz they learn from us lol

at this point -- try anything that you like -- keep introducing a variety of foods in small portions to see what works best. Also teach him to use the spoon (and other utensils) to successfully feed himself.
And remember that snacks are important as well :)

Eggs, bananas, and get those todler meals from walmart! Mine loves em
-
I give my kids (for snacks not meals) goldfish, yogurt, cheerios, little pieces of fruit (banana, pears, peaches, strawberries), corn, green beans. I always thought in my head what if I didn't have any teeth I would still eat anything that I could mash with my gums or dissolved in my mouth. That gives you so much variety.
-
Soft food (As in, A mix of fruits in a blender.) I recommend.

Just give her everything u are eating at meals with her. Just cut it small. Even if its just for her to try it. Don't let her get too used to having her own separate food whenever u eat with her. :)
Try noodles or french fries, or pickles
Finger food!

 Get him/her used to healthy foods, like veggies, and yogert as soon as possible, so they prefer it to unhealthy foods as a teenager.. My son's Dr. told me to do this, and now, he is 35, and still eats healthy. He would rather have yogert than ice cream.

[They love the spagetti, but also good is fruit chunks, in them small cups, applesauce, try to give them naturally sweet fruits and veg. we wander why they are wound up, when they are full of sugar.

My little "feral child" loves to eat condensed chicken soup. Its really salty so we try to keep it to a minimum of 3 times a week..... :icon_rr:

i get lightly breaded chicken fingers which is his new favorite thing ! Along with hot dogs in cresent rolls which he things is gourmet but again because of fat/salt (even if I buy good quality hot dogs) we limite the # of times/week that he is served this.
My son love meatballs so I prepare them in a variety of ways as well.... and i make homemade chicken noodle soup for him.

Don't forget puddings ( great for calcium ) and mashed up sweet potatoes. My Son loved the color...kids eat with their eyes..

I suppose it depends on the individual, BUT, I certainly DO NOT consider 3 times to be MINIMUM.

My daughter is 7 months old and can only handle 5 ounces of formula every 3 hours. She was 3 months and 11 days premature. She weighed 1 pound 9.9 ounces at birth and now weighs 15 pounds 12 ounces. She's my little miracle.
