Does the Bibel say somewhere, that priests should NOT marry a woman? Why do pastors mary with no problem at all?
-
They need to just let them get married. Maybe that will lessen the chances of child molestation.
-
Yea, and doesn't the Bible say to multiply , have a family? If they don't get married then they can still have a family :o :dontknow:
-
In some religions, priest are already allowed to marry, because not all priest are catholic. :notworthy:

wasn't the dad on '7th heaven' a priest?
i could be wrong on that though...
hmm, personally i don't see why they would
ever just be "allowed" to marry. i really don't
know much about the catholic religion, but the
pope can only modify divine law, so what reason
would he have to change it?
isn't that the whole point in becoming a priest --
devoting your life to god? you are living your life
for your religion. you don't get to make the rules.
or that's how i perceive it :dontknow:

"Will Priests ever be allowed to get married?"
I don't think they will.
Twenty Ugandan priests form breakaway sect of married clerics
"Kampala, Uganda, Jan 9, 2010 / 06:38 pm (CNA).- Twenty priests in Uganda have formed a breakaway sect which does not require celibacy. The priests, who are either married or want to marry, have formed a body called the Catholic Apostolic National Church in Uganda. Vatican officials said the priests are now considered outside the Catholic Church and would likely be excommunicated, the Catholic Information Service for Africa (CISA) reports..."
Yahoo Answers has some good discussion on this topic. Q: Why can't priests get married?
-
Catholic churches do not allow their priests to marry. Other denominations do. This was a rule made up by the catholic church due to corruption and greed in the priesthood. Priests used to be allowed to marry but were passing down the church's wealth as a type of inheritance. So not in the bible. As far as changing the rule, I really have no idea. On a side note, priests can be married provided they were married before becoming a priest. But once a priest, cannot marry.

Me too I am not a catholic and I dunno if it is in the bible or not, for me I think when God created Adam and Eve that was for a reason, which is having children, and the only way for a priests to have children is marriage, So If it's not written on the bible they should allow it
