Mickey D doesn't sell hot dogs because Der Weinerschnitzel and the street corner vendors beat them to it. There has to a market that they can get a significant portion of or it isn't profitable. Haven't they sold  over a trillion burgers yet? I quit looking at the sign years ago.

They actually did sell them in the U.K. (Britain) and also in Toronto for quite a few years back in the 1990's. I think there was also a franchise somewhere here in the U.S. that tried it, but I can't remember where it was. McDonalds and hot dogs seems like an oxymoron to me. I don't eat there though, so I don't really care what they sell.  ;)

They always say 'price in participating restaurants may vary'. I want to open a Mcdonalds and not participate in anything!
"Hello can I order a burger?"
"Nope. We got spaghetti! And blankets."

ROFL  I love him.  Hmmm...  Maybe they don't sell hot dogs because they don't contain enough fat?  McDonald's: Making your heart explode with lard since 1954!

If McDonalds thought that it would be a popular menu item, they would offer it.

I went to The World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's recently and they had spaghetti, pizza, etc. there.  I forgot to check for hotdogs.  :P  I guess I'm a purist, though, because I stuck to the traditional hamburger fare when I ordered.   :D

Leave the hot dogs for the carnivals and state fairs.  McDonalds could never come close to the hot dogs at baseball games.  They need to stick with what they have!!!!

I think it depends on the market in the area the store is located in. I live in a big city and we have hot dog places and Sonic is famous for their Coneys  also but I don't see most other places doing hot dogs. Jack in the Box, Burger King, Wendy's, ...I don't think they have hot dogs either.  :-

Wow I didn't even relize that untill now. But I guess I would rather go to Sonic to get a hot dog rather than Mcdonalds.

LOL!!!
Maybe one day they will.  They always have limited time items.  (Like the McRib)  Keep your hopes up, and it could happen.
In the mean time that is what A & W is for.

Well it wouldn't be McDonalds anymore if they sold hotdogs. People go there for burgers and those awesome finger licking good french fries. With the prices going up in fast food restaurants there's no way I would pay 3 to 4 dollars for ONE hot dog when I can make one at home from a pack of 8 hot dogs at the same price. That's like 50 cents per hot dog in a pack of 8. Which is an awesome deal. So would you rather pay four bucks for one or .50 cents for one? Take your pick.

I saw a program on McDonalds on the food or travel channel once. They had a McDonalds that may have served hot dogs. IIRC.
