I mean they branched out everywhere else...what gives?
-
Maybe soy dogs don't sell well :dontknow:
-
Mickey D doesn't sell hot dogs because Der Weinerschnitzel and the street corner vendors beat them to it. There has to a market that they can get a significant portion of or it isn't profitable. Haven't they sold over a trillion burgers yet? I quit looking at the sign years ago.

They actually did sell them in the U.K. (Britain) and also in Toronto for quite a few years back in the 1990's. I think there was also a franchise somewhere here in the U.S. that tried it, but I can't remember where it was. McDonalds and hot dogs seems like an oxymoron to me. I don't eat there though, so I don't really care what they sell. ;)

They always say 'price in participating restaurants may vary'. I want to open a Mcdonalds and not participate in anything!
"Hello can I order a burger?"
"Nope. We got spaghetti! And blankets."

i think that they are just gonna stick to what they do best and what has made them their millions of dollars!!
-
Mcdonald's has tried selling johnsinville brats. When I was younger I worked at a mickey d's (about 20 years ago) that had pizza, for a summer.

ROFL I love him. Hmmm... Maybe they don't sell hot dogs because they don't contain enough fat? McDonald's: Making your heart explode with lard since 1954!
-
If McDonalds thought that it would be a popular menu item, they would offer it.
-
Because hot dogs are too healthy for McDonalds. LMAOOOOO!!!!!
-
:) That is a good question? Interesting...very interesting !
-
This is a good topic why don't McDonald's
sell hodogs you have a good idea on your
hands you should tell someone.

I had a philly cheesesteak at mikkey D's. yesterday.
-
I went to The World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's recently and they had spaghetti, pizza, etc. there. I forgot to check for hotdogs. :P I guess I'm a purist, though, because I stuck to the traditional hamburger fare when I ordered. :D

He's dead now. I opened for him in Chicago two weeks before he did.
Gratuitous name drop much?
-
Because hot dogs suck. >:(
-
Leave the hot dogs for the carnivals and state fairs. McDonalds could never come close to the hot dogs at baseball games. They need to stick with what they have!!!!
-
I think it depends on the market in the area the store is located in. I live in a big city and we have hot dog places and Sonic is famous for their Coneys also but I don't see most other places doing hot dogs. Jack in the Box, Burger King, Wendy's, ...I don't think they have hot dogs either. :-

I am in agreement here
-
i feel like hotdogs are often forgotten about, but i only go to mcdonalds for the fries...even though theyre really unhealthy (like everything else on the menu) but they taste too good for me to resist!
-
Wow I didn't even relize that untill now. But I guess I would rather go to Sonic to get a hot dog rather than Mcdonalds.
-
I would rather not McDonalds ruin another food... :o
-
LOL!!!
Maybe one day they will. They always have limited time items. (Like the McRib) Keep your hopes up, and it could happen.
In the mean time that is what A & W is for.

And by the way... oh SNAP on the comment before mine!! LOL!

Well it wouldn't be McDonalds anymore if they sold hotdogs. People go there for burgers and those awesome finger licking good french fries. With the prices going up in fast food restaurants there's no way I would pay 3 to 4 dollars for ONE hot dog when I can make one at home from a pack of 8 hot dogs at the same price. That's like 50 cents per hot dog in a pack of 8. Which is an awesome deal. So would you rather pay four bucks for one or .50 cents for one? Take your pick.
-
Because no one going to buy it. lol

I saw a program on McDonalds on the food or travel channel once. They had a McDonalds that may have served hot dogs. IIRC.
