thats fine because you have your own opinion. I am a smoker and i have been for 16 years now, my teeth are not yellow and i don't stink, yes you can smell smoke on me right after i put out a cigarette but after a couple of minutes that goes away. I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with someone that is like that but you are stereotyping and grouping everyone together. And most smokers are addicted to it and it is not a easy thing to quit. Actually I think there are studies out there that says the only thing harder to quit is crack

i won't date smokers either (well.... i'm married now, but when I was dating smoking was a big No thanks)

I'm not a fan of smoking, either. Luckily for me, every public place here is now a smoke-free zone.

i have quit smoking!!! but when i did, i always made sure i didnt smoke around non smokers. smokers should respect non smokers and vice versa.

I bet your life is full of hate for more than just us smokers! Sounds to me like you want everyone to be as miserable with their lives as you are with yours. You need to grow up and learn how to speak with a little tact instead of foisting your hate on the general population. Good luck with it.

I do agree with you that smoking is a nasty habit and it stinks and the smell gets into everything. When I am near anyone who smokes, the smell gives me an instant headache and makes me slightly nauseous.

I understand that people become addicted. Personally, it is an expensive and unhealthy habit that needs to be stopped. Why do people begin smoking in the first place anyways? :dontknow:

It annoys me when people toss their cigarette butts on the ground, when I see pregnant women smoking, or people smoking around their kids. It's their choice to smoke, but the kids have no say on whether or not they inhale the stuff. As a child, I always had serious lung infections and the doctor told us it was because my father was smoking around me. Dad refused to quit for 12 years. When he finally did quit, I didn't get lung infections anymore. Of course after inhaling secondhand smoke all that time, I developed asthma.

Totally agree. I hate people when they smoke. It's such a disgusting habit and they don't realize that they're poluting the air with that. I wish people would stop smoking and make the cigarette companies bankrupt. For real cigarette companies don't even care about a person's health. If they did then they would think of something else instead of making cigarettes. But that's a whole other issue. I really hate it when people blow smoke in front of children's faces. That's cruel and jeopardizes the health of that child. Of course the adult doesn't care. Why would they if they don't even care about their own health. :BangHead:

I don't smoke. However, I have thought about taking it up just because I am so ashamed of being a non-smoker. Non-smokers are some of the rudest whiniest, self-righteous people alive. You all seem to know what's best for everyone.

;) I do not hate them...I dislike them! I feel sorry for them because they are addicts. Yes!...They stink and are a health hazard to themselves and others. I wish someone would catch them at an early age and brake their bad habit and addiction.

Lol!... you are funny. I think everyone have their own interest. If we don't like it we can say we don't like it. I don't like to stand near people who smoke either. Because my lung is weak and everytime I smell their smoke I cough.

You know its the people that complain about cigerettes and clean air that will sit there and just as easily use 10 different products in their hair. Then wash that down the toilet and kill a bunch of aquatic life...but as long as THEY are happy that is what really matters right?

I don't personally hate smokers it's to much of a harsh word.
It's more of I dislike the smell of cigarettes :BangHead: and I hate how unhealthy it is.
It doesn't bother me that people chose to smoke, just bothers me that the price they pay for smoking is a bad one.

Now, I've got a "shadow" on the base lining of my lung that I am having a cat scan for (tomorrow.) I get really upset when I see parents smoking in the car with their children and the windows up - that's what happened to me a lot. I feel for the children and their future. I've also seen parents smoke in the car, windows down, and cigarette held outside of window - that is more considerate, at least. My point: You shouldn't hate smokers, just their habit. You may have a habit they wouldn't like, but it shouldn't mean they hate everyone with your type of habit.

I don't hate anybody, but they do stink. They don't smell it but nonsmokers do. Besides, I'm allergic to smoke. It's a shame that people start smoking so they can be cool, then find out they have an addiction that will significantly increase their risk of lung cancer. It's sad.

I know some very nice people who smoke. That being said, I do dislike the inconsiderate smoker. Why is it they don't consider their butts trash and it is o.k. to throw them on the ground, put them out in the sand on the beach and throw them out of the car window? They are trash and do not biodegrade. Also, I don't want to be out strolling through town, at the park, out in public etc and have to be subjected to their nasty habit. Smoke at home!! I was a smoker and did not smoke in public. I kept it to myself. And as far as quitting, yes it is the hardest habit to quit, but suck it up and do it!! For your healths sake!!

I do not throw my cigarette :bootyshake: on the ground, nor do I put them out in the sand.( ^^%%#@!(*) I Live 1000 feet from the beach, I do not want it trashed by :bootyshake either!! One last thing, I did not start smoking to be cool, that`s a load of :bs:. Why do people drink coffee or drink alcohol. What bad habits do you have? :BangHead:

And complain about the pollution and the cost - while driving their huge SUV's. And complain about a child being exposed to smoke in the air - while they drive said SUV to McDonald's for the 6th time that week to feed their 6 children a 'healthy and fun' Happy Meal. And complain about the butts not being biodegradeable while loading up that back of said SUV with case after case of water and pop in plastic bottles.
I am NOT sticking up for smokers, but if I hear one being abused by some 250 pound woman (with hair stiff enough to cut glass) who is holding a bottle of Coke (to wash down her triple cheeseburger and fries) and the keys to her big :bootyshake: SUV so she can drop off her 3 youngest (still in disposable diapers - yeah, THOSE are biodegradeable), I WILL open my mouth and tell her what to do with HER opinion. :P

I don't care if you smoke or not just don't smoke around me! My Aunt worked in a factory full of smoking workers for 20 years & died of lung cancer! She never smoked a day in her life but died because of someone's dangerous habit. (second hand smoke) This happened before smoking laws were ever considered in the US. So, her family couldn't sue the factory or her fellow co-workers for contributing to her illness & death! So, smokers respectfully, do your habit in your own space because I refuse to be MURDERED because of YOUR HABIT!!!!

Too bad you can't sue your parents. Their habit has contributed to your condition. I think it's sad that your parents didn't protect you like they should have. Smoking is a bad habit, and although I may not like it, it doesn't mean that I "hate" the people who do smoke. Quite a few of my family members and friends smoke. They know it's bad for them, and for the most part the respect me enough not to be rude about smoking around me.

:cat: Thanks for your response and encouragement. I haven't heard back from the Monday cat scan on my chest. Speaking of cats, we actually have 3 cats! 2 tortoise shells, and my grey tabby in the pic. She is my kitty and is spoiled rotten - thinks she's the queen (brat is a good word!!) :cat:

Oh people, do you know how long tobacco has been around??? So what if you think that smoking is discusting~GOOD FOR YOU!!!! It ain't going anywhere.
...oh yea, do me a favor and pull out some of your CD's of your favorite musicians, celeberties, and famous Icons all around the world that you love and support and send them the same message of how you hate smoking cigarretes, and the people that do it, when most of them Smoke Ciggarettes!!!!
Non-smokers who protest their opinion to everyone like this are some of the most annoying friggin' people on the planet! It just comes out sounding like those little annoying "yippie dogs!"(ie, chihuahuas, pomeranians) jump all over you, hump your leg, or snap at you, and chirp up to make their opinion heard about the subject any time the mood hits them!!!!

Here's my point....We get the message that you don't like it! We know all of the adverse affects and what we can die of and how we can affect others health negatively-I promise you that we know it already!!! If you really have a problem with it, why not use that negative energy to join an anti-smoking group to discuss it? Be productive about how you feel, don't "talk it" to death!!!
Don't you think that person whom you wouldn't date because they smoke might have been thinking the same thing about you??
You know, "second hand mouth" has been known to have dangerous effects on people's health, too!
Would you protest Harley Davidson motorcycles because they are noisy, and tell all Bikers that ride near you not to ride them, because it annoys you? I dare you to try that one at a rot rally!!!! I'll do you one even better-go tell bikers at a bar that their second-hand smoke is bothering you, and how it could have adverse affects on theirs and your health!!!! Love to be a fly on the wall for that disaster!
It's the persons choice if they choose to do it, and if you can't stand it-get over it!!!! Don't put yourself in that situation to be around it. If that means never going out to a club, or hanging out with your friends, dating certain people, ect. Fine, close your life off from it!!!
OH, and PLEASE DON'T GO TO EUROPE! You wouldn't be able to stand it there!
I've been all over Croatia(Dalmatia, Zagreb, Dubrovnick) ect...Especially the old pubs or expresso shops, which I loved. My ex is from Croatia, he started smoking when he was 14 yrs old, and his family took a picture of it!!
Granted, there are places to go that are non-smoking, but unfortunately-You will run into people who smoke alot of cigarettes when you go thereoverseas-Guaranteed!!!
Like I said, whether you believe it or not, smoking tobacco has been around forever and it always will be-so what's your point?

Hope things r good on your side. So, y got 3 cats....y need to get another one. Odd#s are bad luck. Splat(named after blood splatter evidence from forensic files) is a tortoise shell mix. I made up cheer 4 her: Splat, splat super brat, oh my goodness your a cat! Shadow Thief (the thief that stole my :heart:) he's a Norwegian Mystic Forest cat,Manncoon,Raggdoll mix or mutt. Pets r like potato chips, you can't just have one. Got to go, they're giving me the u forgot to feed us look. :wave:

:cat: Love the names! Speaking of Forensic Files, I really like that show! My kitty's name is Gracie (she has a grey beard, but female, so we went with Gracie (also a great aunt's name from England.) Batman is one of the cats (she's female but with her "masked" face, it just seemed to fit.) Our 3rd cat was named by our 5 yr. old gr. dtr. (she was 3 at the time.) She kept calling her Kitty-ya and it stuck. You're right - I should get one more, lol!

my grandfather would smoke in the car with the windows up with his whole family in the car. i dont understand why.. and i dont understand why he smoked in front of us grandkids. he eventually get lung cancer from it..knowing the dangers. he died 5-10 yrs later after several surgeries and radiation treatments to shrink the tumors and chemo..he lost most of his hair and he was tired all the time. my dad started smoking at a young age and at a young age i started covering my nose with my shirt everytime i would smell his smoke. i never liked it. my mother quit for me ..YES THIS IS TRUE! i was 2. here's the story: one day i was sitting playing -probably inside our old apt where i first lived after i was born. my mom was pregnant with my brother and she was smoking and i said hold me and i looked at her and...she didnt want to hold me while having the thing lit in her hand or whatever so she looked at me then looked at the cigarette and asked herself this question "whats more important, my kid or the cigarette?'' she put it out and never took a hit again. (AS FAR AS I KNOW). it's been 22 yrs and she still doesnt smoke. she told me just recently that she doesnt really know why she started smoking in the first place. she said she never liked the taste and she thought it really stunk so she never took a drag again. now, if only i could get my dad to quit. my brother started smoking at a young age. he married someone who smokes too. they have a daughter now and they rerfuse to smoke in the house-which im grateful for. i dont want my 17 month old niece subjected to that, even though her mother tried to quit and did for a few weeks while pregnant,but picked it up again and still smokes. my mom complains that my dad stinks and comes to bed stinky and everything he touches stinks. it's nasty. she smells it on some kids she watchs too. it makes her want to puke.
