Title: I NEED to lose about 15 pounds.
Post by: missijl on September 10, 2010, 11:32:57 am
Seriously. If anyone has a legit idea of how to do this in a month, please share. I need a specific answer... not just "eat healthy and exercise." If anyone has a daily workout plan they use to lose/maintain weight, please let me know! Also, I'm trying to eat a lot of skinless chicken *bleep* to help with this. If anyone can think of some good, healthy toppings and ways to prepare them, that would be great also! Thanks in advance!

Chicken can be topped with anything sataed onions, mushrooms, little cheese, marianate chicken with favorite sauce flavor - I do leg lifts and stomach crunches daily along with not eating pass 6pm

Me, too need to lose 15 pounds as well.
Now what I am trying to do is have a big meal for breakfast which is like what I normally had for dinner around 8am. Kinda skip lunch or just have fruit. Then as for dinner I eat less than I normally had for dinner around 4pm. Only been a week, but seem working ok to me, jeans aren't as tight, but I haven't measure myself yet. I forgot to mention that I am a housewife, so it's not too hard for me to do so. I image if you are at work, this method might not work for you.
Good luck and hope you can lose 15 pounds~~

@elysee24 and missijl - Question to missijl - how much money did you make this/last month?  Why I'm wondering is because if you have like Weight Watchers or some program like that go there (because you have time lol this is your only fun job) and get some help....I lost 30 lbs by not eating much in 2 weeks....I was extremely sick and never wanted to eat....before I weighed 150 and I weigh 130 now....I'm small and I'm 6ft 5in and 33 years old.

Whoa, if you are 6ft 5in and only weigh 130lbs., you are in some serious trouble! Even 150lbs. at that height is ridiculous.

So you weren't actually trying to lose weight, is that what you're saying? Sorry about having to be on the meds and I hope everything works out or at least gets better for you. It just concerned me a LOT when I read that. :(

You might want to try running or swimming which burns a lot of calories.

Many people use body wraps, but I suggest you wrap your waist at night with a fabric wrap or plastic wrap. Put on preparation H all over your waist, then wrap your entire waist firmly with plastic. My friend lost 8lbs in 2 weeks.

I am at a loss as to how you lose weight this way?

What's up everyone who need to lose weight? Well I don't have that problem but my problem is somewhat like yours. I'm trying to gain weight!!!! Since my metabolism is high' it's really hard for me to do so and I've tried almost everything I could think of. The only suggestion that I can give to you is to log on to a weight management site. Make sure they provide a chart to calculate your calorie intake. That's what I did. It was working for me until I just forgot about the chart because I got too busy. The chart will tell you how much to eat on a daily basis as well as how much you can lose on a weekly basis if you follow the chart. Don't aim too high when you first start out. Start slowly until you can get the feel of what you are doing and then take it up a step. You have to be  determined and focused!!!!!!! I'm not a weight management professional but I do like trying to help people and everyone else should feel the same.

@jordandog - No, I didn't try to lose weight.  I'm 33 years old and I have my uncle in me....except he's 103 years old...but he's 6ft 7in and only weighs around 175lbs...we both just don't gain weight from eating...but anyways...I was sick and literally didn't eat for 2 weeks or so I barely drank water and I felt terrible.  The meds are annoying...but every 3 days or so I gain a pound....so I'm getting there!

you want quick answers and there are none. You have to figure out your own routine. somebody elses routine may not work for you. I have learned this though drink lots of water everyday, believe it or not it does help loose weight. water washes out bad chemicals in your body which add weight. I have a friend That lost 20 lbs in 4 months just by increasing his water intake. also go on walks evreryday walk about a mile or 2 everyday and that should help. hope this helped you. but if you want a more detailed workout or routine you should consult a physician or exercise coach or join a gym. Best of Luck :notworthy:

that's also too much weight to lose healthily in one month...and a doctor will tell you that as well.  I walk 2-8 miles/day as often as I can, to maintain muscle tone, and I eat 5-7 servings of fruit/veg per day, along with a balance of protein and carbs that work for my body.  I also dance with a dance company, but we have been on hiatus for the summer...just started again yesterday.
I would suggest checking with your doctor to see what they think is your best course, based on your body and how it functions. just eating chicken isn't going to make the loss permanent (I have many friends who have gone that route and gained all/plus back).  what will help is increasing and maintaining muscle tone for continued increased calorie usage, which means weights or strength training at least 3x/week, plus the walking or whatever aerobic activity you choose (when the doctor clears you for an exercise program).  sending lots of good thoughts and props to you as you move forward in your decision to get healthy!
