Title: Jesus as our Savior--not Santa
Post by: amc372002 on December 08, 2010, 08:54:45 am
I am a believer in Christ and I get a little frustrated with the whole Santa Claus thing.  I know it is cute and all but my frustration comes when we allow it in our churches.  I mean how do you explain to a child that later on Santa is not real but Jesus is even though right now we can't see both of them.  We must stand up for Christ and remember He is truly the reason for the season. :star:

Santa was real. He was a real person. He did live and give presents out. His name was Saint Nick. The saint who inspired the legend of Santa Claus

Fortunately the Church I attend puts Santa in the back seat.  Jesus is always front and center.  How ironic is it that at Christmas time  the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) quite often takes a back seat to the secular trinity (me, myself, and I)?  :BangHead:

You do realize that if it weren't for said "religious stuff", the holiday wouldn't have even existed in the first place.
Think before you speak please.

Santa Claus is just a character to make children happy and give them something to look forward to. He is also used to get kids to behave. They will sooner or later learn he doesn't exist.

This person may not care about the holiday.

St Nick was real BUT he did NOT travel around the world and there is day to celebrate that is different than Christ birth, plus it is CHRISTMAS.  It is Jesus birth.  Jesus is our savior.  Those who are non believers I will pray for you.  Life is awful without Him in it, I know I used to ignore Him and make excuses for all that I did wrong.  I am by no means perfect, but only one is and that is Jesus.
I was never taught Santa but we were taught respect for others belief in Santa.  Funny how no one wants to respect my beleifs, even those who are believers in Christ.  Christmas is my favorite time of year and my parents taught me discipline to behave.  Plus we did not have much money, I don't now, but I enjoy Christmas because I can give to others who are in need and I am not worried about material things.  Yes I have things, but I don't feel I need tobe in an expensive place.  May God be with you all. even if you don't like it, you don't have to post to this.  Plain and simple.
