If you do not have anything to nice to say, don't say anything at all. It's not nice to talk badly of the dead.

Maybe you're not old enough to remember the 80's. She was very talented but underrated. Trust me she had lots of fans including me. Even as she got older she still had a great voice and could blow these current pop stars out of the water. No contest.

Truly one of the saddest ways to end the year. I look forward to seeing her in Heaven, or possibly Hell, wherever the wind blows us.

Seems like I have heard the name, but I can't place who she was or her music.

RIP Teena Marie (March 5, 1956 - December 26, 2010)
Amongst her final tweets on Christmas Day:
"May Gods Light always shine on you and your family! May you have the most joyous Holliday season ever! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

Greatest hit: Lover Girl, but I really loved her hit Square Biz!

Here today gone tomorrow. How sad. I'm sure when she went to bed that night it probably never crossed her mind that she would never wake up to see another day.

Well, I'm still pretty shocked about her death, so I don't know what to say at the moment. I mean she really wasn't that old and there was no mention of her being sick that I know of. I do however, thank you, for having to post links to her videos on YouTube. Another 80's icon bites the dust, I'm sad!!!

I read she had a grand mal seizure about a month ago so maybe that had something to do with it. Yeah I was shocked too. She wasn't old. I was just listening to Square Biz on Youtube and shedding some tears and wishing music was like that again. She had real singing talent you just don't hear that kind of talent nowadays, didn't need autotune or other enhancement crap. She sounded just as good live. She was still making appearances over the years and she still sounded as good as ever. For those of us who were fans we know how great she was. I'll certainly miss Lady T but thankful that she left us great songs and great memories of the times.

It is sad to hear that another legend has passed. I liked a couple of her songs. I hope that she had her life in order before it was time for her to go. :angel11:

I agree with you! There are a multitude of singers who have never been heard of, doesn't mean they weren't great performers! :notworthy:

Yeah, winter still has the highest fatality rate, even with modern medicine.
And just because you never heard of her doesn't mean she wasn't good.
You can't speak of the dead, good or bad, unless you knew the person.
