I use to write in a journal all the time .... until my NOW EX-husband found it and took the entire day off work so he could stay home and read it!!!!! He was a horrible person and I am thankful he is no longer in my life. I am now married to a wonderful man but something inside me will not let me keep a journal ..... even though I know my husband would never break that trust.
So .....do you keep a journal?

I never have kept a journal.
-
No but I have tried on many occasions.
-
I write in a jounal every night it helps me relax. It also gives me a chance to work thru my thoughts.
-
No I do not write in a journal but I should. My mother kept one towards the end of her life and I loved reading it. It means a lot to me and I guess maybe someday mine would mean a lot to someone.

I use to keep a journal but my husband keep wanted to read it, so I burned it.

i've never kept a journal. i di dhave an anonymous blog for awhile but i eventually lost interest in that. my life is very simple and predictably scheduled so there's not much to write about anyway. plus, i have always been the cautious type and have never written, typed or recorded anything that might be held against me in a negative way at any point in the future

No, I have never kept a journal, but I guess I use forums like this one to express my thoughts. Use technology, it's anonymous (or can be) and so maybe this could help to express your thoughts.

yes i am thinking of writing one for my grandchildren to see
-
sometimes i write on my laptop because i hate writing. but haven't in a while

I do keep a journal, especially when feeling stressed...lol. Helps me clear my mind, sleep better, also provides those little aha moments. I think all should give it a try...very revealing.

I keep a blog online to record what happens each day, then I occasionally write my own, private thoughts in a composition notebook I hide in my room.

hahah! too funny.
i used to keep a journal, but the sad thing is, i felt like
i could never truly write what i wanted to and let it all
out because of someone stumbling upon it and getting
hurt feelings/angry/etc. once its on paper or somehow
recorded, you have no defense...
i love to write, though. i keep little snippets of my writing
and i have a lot of poetry/prose that i like to look back on.
i have a good way of hiding all the things i REALLY want to
say, into metaphors or similes.

I've kept a journal for years. My boyfriend never reads It but knows I don't mind If he does.

I had a creative writing course in which we were required to keep a journal -- write in it for 15 minutes straight each day. But it was more like SherylsShado said, where it was more about whatever came to our heads instead of a daily account of our life. The idea was more to loosen our minds to the creative juices. I actually liked it towards the end of the course... I could really see how writing each day really did allow for creative thoughts to just flow through. Perhaps if I were to become a writer I may go back to keeping a journal, but right now, the FC forums are the way I let my creative hair down. ;D

i always wrote in my journal, havent wrote in it for a while now.

I put my thoughts down on a blog. Not deep personal stuff, but just general stuff. Some of it is just silly just for fun stuff, some things are photos, some are poems and songs, some are products and some are rants, etc...

I tried, but it made me realize how boring my life is.

Interesting story. When I was thirteen I kept a journal and often wrote about this boy I had a huge crush on.One day I turned on the radio and I know this is weird but my mom use to have this weird cordless phone and the signal would get crossed with the radio and I would hear her talking. I would turn it off.Well anyway I was listening to my music and the signal crossed I got up to cut off the radio then paused cause I heard her say why dont she just ask that boy she always talking about in her diary for her allowance money.I was so angry as she started talking about my journal I immediately ripped it up and burned it.To this day I will never keep a journal!

I did keep a journal for a long time. I wrote all my childhood memories in that but one day when we were moving I lost it. My mom threw it off. I read it when I had time till Bachelors degree. I used to laugh at myself reading that.
Thanks for this post!! It made me remember few glimpses of the journal :angel11:

I am 19 and still write in a journal occassionally. Writing helps me when I'm upset or angry.

I have it before. but toward right now I'm too busy for it. And plus sometime I forget to write them for months. So I stop. But there I'm still keep them. Maybe I should start to write some. They are good for you to keep your thought on.

I do not keep a journal. Even if I do, I usually destroy it within a short time after re-reading them because I do not find it helpful to write them where someone may read it. I’m so sorry to hear about your predicament. It must have been an awful, angry feeling for your privacy stolen from prying eyes. You should keep it somewhere locked up with the key in your possession at all times or avoid writing one altogether.
