Title: Have you ever been ice fishing?

Living in Minnesota, it was one of our winter options.  We have had ice houses that were a fairly good size.  We even had a heater in them.  I went a lot, but it scared the heck out of me.  We had to drive on the ice to get to the house.  The ice was usually plowed so we had a "road".  I always rode with my car door open so I could get out quick if the ice started to crack.  I was also nervous to be in the house with a heater - afraid the heat would melt the ice.  I don't recall that we caught that much fish.

I have never been ice fishing but I would love too.  That sounds like a good time.

I live in California and they do not have ice fishing here as far as i know,,but it sounds fun.  I would like to try it

Hey we have lakes here that turn to ice maybe that will be a saturday venture.  How thick does the ice have to be to do it so that you dont fall in.

growing up in northern WI -- ice fishing is a must.
ice fishing in a "hut" with heaters and hot food, etc --- that wasn't TRUE ice fishing to us.
We used to ski and or ice skate across the ice to go get the fish!  :)  wonderful past time.

My non-winter husband was amazed to see all the people standing on the ice and all the trucks/cars, etc ON the ice.

Although I lived in SD and MN a few years, I never had the chance to go ice  :fish:ing. I saw people doing it, but never actually knew anyone who did it to go with.

I live in south Florida. The only ice fishing I do is at the fish counter at the grocery store when they have them laid out on ice. :)

ive been ice fishing and the fish that i caught dropped in the water after a waited 3 hours to catch one....luck

I think ice fishing kind of sounds fun.. but I bet it I got out there in the cold and had to wait for a fish to bite... I would be saying otherwise

 No I have never been ice fishing before, it seems like it would be fun experience! I do alot of regular fishing, I live on a river

I have been ice fishing quite  a few times. It was fun as long as you are dressed warm. We had an ice shack out there with a kerosene heater and it was about 90 degrees in there meanwhile out side it was about 10 below. We had a propane stove for food so we wee all set. we had fun and caught some big pike.

A few days ago there was a news story about a truck that fell through thawing ice. I've never gone ice fishing. I never plan to do so.

I'm a Florida native.  It looks very interesting, but I don't know if I could handle the cold because I'm a wimp.

No, I have never been ice fishing. I would be so afraid of falling into the water through the ice.  Does not really sound like fun to me.

I am not lucky for that, may the fish beg me that let me do not catch them, so that they can alive. so I don't fish any more!

Ive been icefishing once,  the ice was really thick,  and the fish didnt bite,   all in all if your there to actaully fish and not just enjoy the cold,  than its not that great,  but i live in Michigan, so you have better luck
