Watching my nieces & nephew, makes me feel like scientist studying gender behaviors. Two of my nieces are really smart without trying. My youngest niece from the cradle looks like she was trying to escape from the restrains of prison. Now 2 years old, she is strong & athletic & unafraid to try anything. My nephew, is a constant crybaby & seem to get worst as he gets older. My poor brother thinks he's gay. LoL. After reviewing, research, documentaries, & studies, usually, girls & boys at a young age are pretty much competitive. This competition changes as the they grow older. There was a study where 13 yr old girls & boys were studied on their abilities in math skills. The results were the boys were better the girls even through from grade school these kids' math abilities were about the same. It's suspect that sometimes girl will knowingly or unknowingly, dumb down their abilities because they think the boys' they like might not like them b/c they are smarter then the guys' they like. This is only one type of study.
FC Members with knowledge or have very young children going through development & gender expressions, please give me your input. I'm very interested in this area of study now that I've been blessed with nieces & nephews. Thanks!

I have a 3 year old son and he his extremely smart. I have been told by many people that he is really advanced for his age. He has really good common sense also. Then, there is my 10 year old daughter. I swear her common sense went right out the window. I think it just depends on the child. I was told that my husband was really smart when he was little too, so maybe it's genetics. I hope that means my daughter didn't get her lack of common sense from me then. :sad1: I also have an almost 2 year old girl, but I can't tell which way she's going yet. She just wants to copy everyone...lol

I don't think either sex is inherently smarter than the other. I do think certain children might be inherently more intelligent than others, just as some may be wiser than others (ie, common sense) or others might be more athletic.

I have a girl and 2 boys. I don't think sex has anything to do with it. They are all smart in there own ways. As said before, some people are smarter than others, some have more common sense, etc.
