What do you think makes a long distance relationship work? I am in one and he lives away, temporarily, for now. It's hard but hopefully worth it.

I was in one myself. I would have to say that what makes it work is to try to maintain having good communication and clear up any misunderstandings as soon as possible. Of course little love notes and things can go a long way too because being away from your partner causes a big loss in the intimacy department so it helps to find a few temporary substitutions just so they know you still think they are hot. :)

I think it's important to have a friendship outside the romance, and to know when exactly the person will come back.

keeping in constant touch, not like every minute, but like atleast contact them wether it be email, txt, skype, or call, at least once a day.

They usually don't. It is very difficult unless the two persons have been together for a long time and have developed alot of trust in one another. Early on though it usually doesn't work out.

I have been through one. It is extremely tough. You both need to have an understanding that there are other things that are happening in each other's lives - school, work/career etc. If you both understand each other's goals, it will work.

I think its a lot easier to be in a long distance relationship now than it was a long time ago.The internet and electronics have made it alot easier. How long will he be gone for? I think it will be worth it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder right? Good luck!

I am in a long distance friendship not relationship. I am not sure a long distance relationship unless you both are fully committed to each other.

I am in a long distance relationship - have been for over a year now. The most important thing for us is vacationing together as much as possible - even just 3 day weekends.
