My lips are always chapped and it seems like nothing helps, any sure tips that will do the trick to make it go away?
-
mine are always chapped too but if i gently scrub with a toothbrushand vasline there way softer and from there a lil vasline everyday, if i stop its back to being chapped i havent found a permently soultion yet :bunny:

i love Chapstick cherry or strawberry
-
I use lip glosses a lot, and try to avoid salty snacks and too much hot sauce.
-
It sounds crazy but I swear it's the best. Sex Toy parties sell stuff called nipple nibblers. It makes the BEST chapstick. I used it in labor.
-
{ Yay to Passion Parties! LOL }
Anyways...back to chapped lips...Gently brushing them with a toothbrush does help remove all the chapped parts, then you just have to maintain them. I keep carmex in every drawer in my house (just about!), in my purse, my jacket pockets, my cars...It is never ending!
Someone once told me that maybe it was because I was dehydrated...but they were FULL of it. My oldest daughter pretty much drowns herself in water every day. She must drink 2 gallons, and still has to put on some form of chapstick every 5 mins. :dontknow:

Chap stick! Just apply it a few times a day. During the winter, i use it in the morning and at night (since I am usually outside) and it seems to help me.
-
Regular chapstick use and the toothbrush trick are my best suggestions as well. That works for me.
-
I keep tons of chapstick around. Just get used to the idea that you are gonna have to use this stuff many times a day for the rest of your days. You can get two for a dollar at Dollar Tree, if you have those in your town.
-
i suggest a little vaseline everyday for a while and some chapstick!

Burt's Bees lip balm works great for me. My lips don't crack and I haven't gotten a cold sore since I started using it.
-
Mine get chapped during the winter, and chapstick usually helps, or vasoline.
-
I have the same problem. Colorado is a very dry climate! I try to use medicated chapstick.
-
there is special to stop chapped lips.
-
Ok so the toothbrush idea is amazing and I don't know why I didn't think of it before!
-
Try using vaseline
-
Put on vapor rub before you go to bed, its pretty much gone when you wake up.
-
Continually apply chapstick, eventually your lips will become moisturized
-
Petroleum jelly in Vaseline is absolutely terrible - it is the same thing used to lubricate your car engine parts and is derived from crude oil. I would never put Vaseline on my lips
Try these... "Earth to Body" Skin Care, and I picked up a tube of Emu Oil lip balm. Its fabulous!! The ingredients are emu oil, sweet almond oil, avacado oil, aloe vera, beeswax, lavender oil, tea tree oil, lime oil and lemon seed extract. That's it! No chemicals! It goes on VERY smoothly, no tugging or waxy feeling.
Underlying causes could be various.. Systemic Candida (yeast), kidney energy imbalances, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, excessive picking, etc...
One dermatologist said that after years of picking, the skin has started to grow back thicker as the body's natural way of protecting itself. She also said, however, that in time this will work itself out, as the body continuously heals and regenerates (but people will have to be patient). And stop picking.
If anyone has ever taken excessive amounts of synthetic vitamin A or even Accutane for Acne, this will be an ongoing problem. Unfortunately, I took that when I was younger, and never had dried lips before. I'm sticking with holistic methods for everything from now on.

In addition to the treatment suggestions - you may also want to see if you are drinking enough water. If your body is dehydrated, your lips are usually one of the first to dry out, so if you drink more water, they may not dry out as fast.
If that's not the source, excessive unprotected exposure to sun or windy conditions can overly dry out lips as well - if that's part of it - just take extra precautions to protect your lips in those conditions.
Good luck!

I love mary-kay lip products.

i live in Wyoming and its incredibly dry here i dont know if you have tried this or have this store near you but there is a product called black jack lip balm at a store called sephora and it works wonders!!!
-

Ouch! I think that might burn a little bit, besides tasting like crap ;D
Not sure that would be wise, what if you licked your lips at night without knowing??
-
I use the "chapstick" brand daily like a lip balm. I usually never have a problem with chapped lips! I put it on several times a day!
-
If you can find it were you live get aveeno medicated its got a blue lid on it. Works fast to then just put on daily as needed. Otherwise get the Burts bee's kind works good. If really bad and hurting put Preperation H on them it sounds gross but takes pain and swelling out pulse makes them soft again. This stuff is perfect for evey thing especially for burns. I got burned with turkey juices one thanksgiving put it on it and not one blister and stopped the hurting and burnning fast. I also used it on bed ridden mother n law to keep away bed sores works better than anything on market for bed sores. Have good day :D
-
My lips only get chapped when it gets really cold outside, and regular chapstik takes care of it.
-
Well for those of you who also have this problem I finally found my own solution. It works miracles. At night before I go to bed I put chapstick on. When I'm sleeping it can't get rubbed off from talking/eating and those types of things so during the day since I let the chapstick works it's magic for so many hours at night I dont even use it during the day. :D

CARMAX IS REALLY GOOD. APPLY AM AND PM. AND STOP LICKING YOUR LIPS SO MUCH!
-
I use either vaseline or carmex to help with chapped lips especially in the winter time.
-
i hate chapped lips i all ways pile on the chapped stick.
-
I would say medicated Blistex or Carmex are the best ones to use for chapped lips. It may burn a little but it will definitely make the chapped lips go away. Good luck!
-
Cool your lips in cool water while you drink your water. Use some extra virgin olive oil and see if that works for you. Good luck!

[Let's get those lips ready for smoochin', Go to the nearest health food store and get a beeswax lipbalm. It will be even more effective if it has olive oil in it. Also drink plenty of water and after a few weeks you should see a major difference. A little natural coco butter will make your lips very soft and smooth, happy smoochin'. :) :) :) :) :)/quote]

put on some vicks vapo=rub before you go to bed and it wil be gone when you wake up.

In the cold or very hot places chapped lips are a problem. Here are some tips: 1. Avoid spicy and extremely cold foods they will dry you're lips more and eventually they will become chapped 2. you're lips are part of you're skin so they also need proper care and moisture -- I apply beeswax chap stick every morning and night 3. Avoid being dehydrated often chapped lips comes with dry skin, if you're skin is also dry this could be that you're not drinking enough water.
-
I use chapstick throughout the day. Sometimes I use some salt scrub and put some unscented lotion on if there are really bad.
-
I rarely get chapped lips, but when I do vaseline is the best medication for that.
