Will the troops return home....what do you think??? why or why not
-
No. There is still a world of evil people who seek the death of any and all Americans.

thanks for responding..have a good day

No, we still need to defend the US against terrorists and evil.

Our troops will never get to all come home. There are still too much evil in the world. Let's just pray that the worst evil stays over there. I'm afraid of what can happen inside our country due to the lack of immigration enforcement.

I am not so sure that Osama Bin Laden is dead. It is quite suspect that we don't have his body or any form of DNA that shows that the deceased was Bin Laden. Why would we choose now to respect his Muslim religion and honor that his body be buried quickly? This man was responsible for thousands of people who died and we are going to respect anything that he stands for? The troops won't be coming back because we still have other unnecessary military ventures to complete.

We have the body, the DNA and pictures. What are you going to do with the body? Parade? Head on a pike? Better to dump him in the ocean rather than to have a grave for a shrine and I sure don't want good American maggots eating that corpse.

It may help some getting rid of the titular head. However there is still a lot of unrest in that area, so I think it will still be many years before we can really pull completely out of that region. We don't want what got us into this mess in the first place... After the Russian / Afgan war, there wasn't a real set government in place, so warlords and terrorist organizations were able to set up in that country. Thus we need to ensure that there is a sustainable government in place before we completely move our troops out. The same is true with Iraq; even though Sadam's regime was captured / killed, we still needed to maintain a presence until their new government could be established. Heck, we didn't get out of Germany after WWII until several decades after the war ended (though to be fair, once the Nazis were removed from power and the new government was put in place, Germany became more of an ally so they didn't feel threatened by the US presence in their country).

We will never be safe from evil. There always going to be someone just like Bin Laden.

It's a step in the right direction. With a grandson who's scheduled for Afghanistan next, I'm very relived that he's gone but I wish we didn't have so many people rejoicing in the streets. It looks too much like those 3rd world countries that were having celebrations after 9-11.

We must not let our guard down. Bin Laden being dead doesn't fix everything. But it is a step in the right direction.

You're kidding, right? This is the man who ordered many, many people all over the world murdered-- not just the World Trade Center or the U.S.S. Cole. Many people will celebrate this in other countries. That said, we have every right to celebrate that he is no longer alive. Historic day!

It will be a while before our troops come home. Just because Bin Laden is dead, doesn't mean the war immediately stops. I think there will be backlash and more attacks on both sides now. It is definitely a win in the small battle and a step towards ultimate victory, but the war is not over yet. My prayers are with the troops even more so now!

Terrorism, like the Mafia, will continue to be ongoing problem which must be fought with detective work and small groups of specially trained operatives. I hope we've learned that invading countries isn't all that effective, and is damn expensive!!!

I think its a good sign for America to come out of this economic crisis!!
-
not yet too soon.
-
We got to watch out for his #2 who's now #1 now that bin laden is dead. Their going to plan some kind of revenge in the near future.
-
Yes, the only way to save ourselves from terrorists is to blow up more innocent Muslims with more wars! We should send MORE troops out!
-
I would hope alot of good. :dontknow: Our troops can be sent back home or we made a point to the world
-
Unfortunately Bin Ladin was just one of many extrem terrorists who would like to cause extreme harm and suffering to the citizens of the United States. So no I do not see the United States troops coming home anytime soon. Nor do I see any end to the good vs evil battle.

I'm a Republican, and that offends me! Obama may be a Socialist, but he's a Christian.

They will not return home for a while I am sure. We still need to be on guard.
