I was there years ago. It was very beautiful. I live in southwest Florida and have been all over the state. It is hard to find a beach here that is not great. :)

I have never been but hear that it is beautiful.  I was at St Pete Beach in Florida about a month ago and it is beautiful.  I loved it so much I didn't want to come home!

I live in California and have access to many beaches. Most of them are about 2 or 3 hours away Heading due West from where I live. I want to take another Highway 1 road trip along the coast. If you take the time and stop often along the way....it's worth a week or more of vacation days. Pismo Beach is my favorite. Our church holds a big youth conference in Santa Maria every year. We like to go down to Pismo beach at the end of it for the day, and for dinner, before heading home. There's a little hole in the wall restaurant (can't think of the name, but can see it in my head), that serves the best grilled Halibut ever.

Our favorite website (Fusion Cash) is in Santa Cruz which is a great place right on the beach. The boardwalk is a wonderful way to spend the day, and has great seafood restaurants built right on it. Bodega Bay has a nice long beach, and one of the best seafood restaurants around (Tides Enn). Okay, now I made myself hungry! :P

I have never been to Destin, I have been to Panama Beach a couple of time.  It is real nice there.  Wish I could go back, maybe in a year or 2 I can.  Just hope I can save up enough money so I can.

I was raised in Panama City, east of Destin, and now live in Pensacola, west of Destin.  All of the beaches here in the Panhandle are 99% pure quartz and as white as sugar.  The sand has come down from the Appalachians.  Destin is expensive and tourist-driven but they have a fabulous outlet there.  Panama City caters to spring-breakers, and summer is filled with horrible traffic jams and drunk teenagers.  Pensacola is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore and is much quieter because of the lack of building development.  The type of vacation you are looking for should determine which beach you go to, but all the beaches are white and perfect!
