Do u guys think it should be a requirement for kids to have community service or volunteering in schools? What do you guys think ?
-
I don't think it should be a requirment because kids these days have enough school work that just adding somthing else would tip their plates. Now if they want to it should be volintary expecially if they want to get in a college or something. But not required in order to graduate. Kids these days are dropping out faster than when I was in school so I Say NO!

i think it would be nice if they set it up as an extra credit offer.

250 hours of volunteering is required for high schoolers here in South FL in order for them to graduate.
-
I definately dont think it could hurt!

Yes I do. It's a good thing for kids to be exposed to helping others. They are too entitled and self centered. They should help those less fortunate and do things for their community that will help them get a sense of pride and service to others.

I think it looks good for when applying to college, so if they are interested in that then is nothing wrong in making it a requirement
-
I don't think so kids already has to much homework. What happen to a kid just being a kid any more.
-
I think community service should not be a requirement to graduate. If someone would like to do it, that is fine, and they can do it but don't force it onto everyone.
-
i think it's a good idea but i cant imagine that every student would actually do it or take it seriously. when i was in high school, i did over 200 hours of community service and i actually enjoyed it, but that's just me

I agree with the first response. also I feel it would be an insult because the law use community service as punishment so I would be pissed. It will feel like were being punished. cause were obviously not going to be paid.

No, but I agree there should be some type of extra credit for those who do.
