I tried to get into it. didnt really follow thru. all i did was collect the coupon pages each week for a month i never cut out the ones i wanted. i think maybe ill go to the newspaper fac or the recycling center to see if they have them sorted at the end of the weeks so i can get multiples of the ones i want. theres so many online sites and blogs n stuff its hard to determine whats good advice and bad info.

I have put some serious thought into doing it myself. I could definatly use the money I would be saving on food elsewhere. My biggest concern is that I am not so good at being organized.   :dontknow:

I started using coupons a few months ago.  I have got one item for free and have saved some on other things I buy,.  There were alot of coupons in this weeks newspaper.  Well worth the price I paid for 5 papers

My only problem with coupons is that I always forget them. I even leave them in my car while shopping. I have even lost gift cards. Starbucks sent me an email reminding me I have credit on a card. Found it in my glove compartment.. I think I need a personal assistant to keep me on track. Any volunteers ?

There are web sites that help you organize your coupons with what is on sale.  Couponmom.com is the one I use, its free and about 95% accurate for where I live.  I can't say that I have bought 400.00 in groceries for nothing but I have got a few things for free which right now I give to my sister and my son.  Maybe it is a lot of energy just to give stuff away to some people; I tend to like helping them since they are financially stretched right now.

You have to look, I live in PA and some of the coupons listed are not in my fliers or they are a little different so that doubling doesn't work.  Good luck getting those deals!

I have been using coupons for over the last couple of years and have been able to reduce the cost of my spending.  But I have also learned over the last couple of years on how to look for sales so that I can save on the things that I don't have coupons for.  So I think that you have to look but also take time to get everything to work the way that you do the coupons and I also do the stockpiling thing some but not a lot because we don't have the room for alot but I also do a small garden on our deck to help in the summer.

This sounds like my wife right now!!!  She is really into extreme couponing.  In fact, she actually goes as far as ordering inserts from different newspapers online.  I can't lie though, I am happy that she saves us money when we go shopping!!!

There are a lot of online sites that she uses as well that you can print off different coupons for different items.  Sometimes it is a hit or miss with those types of things.

I go directly to the manufactures' website for stuff I use routinely. I have also written/emailed a few and they have sent some high priced coupons for contacting them.

I have to say I did ... it is very time consuming, and you have to develop a plan and be very organized.
Sometimes you have to buy stuff you don't need to get the RRs or ECBs, but I typically donate stuff I get that I don't need. I have managed to do some transactions  for up to 96% savings.

Id like to, but we have alot of dietary restrictions and dont see alot of coupons for items we can use, food wise.  I do use them for cleaning stuff, TP and other non-food items and use the grocery circulars to stock up on meats and poultry when they are on sale.

It seems I have always used coupons when shopping.  I started keeping track of what I spent on groceries this year and what I have saved with coupons, etc.  I am averaging 40% and we do not have double couponing here.  I do have a small stockpile.  I cut out the coupons from the Sunday papers (I take two different ones), keep the ones I want and give the rest to a daughter.  I cut out the specials or coupons from the one grocery store I go to and try to match them up with manufacturers coupons, then put them all in a recycled envelope, with my written grocery list on noncoupon items on the back.  If you watch television, all of this can be done while watching shows.  Some people keep their coupons in categories, I have an envelope for each month of expiration.

The extreme couponers are spoiling it for us average couponers.  Some stores are setting a limit on how many of one item you can get with a coupon.  I agree with that.  You should not be able to get 75 of one item at one trip.

It really starts paying off when you get organized and a system down.
Then once you build your scenarios ... it's trial and error.
Make sure to check out the stores coupon policies and good luck on your coupon adventure ... I didn't think it was possible, but I proved myself wrong with in maybe 2 weeks of starting ... again it is very time consuming ...

I am addicted to that show and slightly depressed I will never have the skills some of those women have. Granted who needs 60 containers of mustard but I get the addiction. Since I went on maternity leave and they did not have a spot for me to come back to I try clipping coupons as often as I can and then search the net for coupons. Then I check to see which sales are the best and thats where I will go. I just wish I could walk out of a grocery store with 1000 dollars worth of items for less then a hundred dollars. That is just amazing to me.

Almost forget: definitely if your store has a savings card GET IT! It is invaluable! Log it online and sign up for emails.
A lot of savings are kept to people that follow their cards on line. Saving stare is great to charge the cards with savings without having to clip the coupons.
