on the news they said eating hot dogs can raise their chances of getting diabetes by 51% --- my kid downs like a whole package of hot dogs a day --- I'm not going to buy them anymore.
-
Robin Quivers has talking about that too! They are so bad for you!
-
I do not eat it anyway,I just have a baby, I focus on healthy food, not junk food

What won't give you diabetes or cancer? Seriously, a hot dog every now and then is not going to hurt you. The issue according to the studies is for any processed meat such as bologna, sausage, or hot dogs. The depleting ozone is probably going to kill everyone before hot dogs will. I think most people know hot dogs are not a health food with the high levels of fat, sodium, cholesterol, and nitrates. You can find hot dogs with lower fat, sodium, cholesterol, and no nitrates. Cutting back on the dogs is likely a very good idea, but I'm not going to say no to one on the occasional baseball game or barbeque.

Forgot to mention I'm eating a Ballpark brand cheese dog right now and no problems whatso............ack!.....gag!.....ahhhh..........

I agree that it seems like today any and everything will kill you. My kids eat them all the time.

I'm 38 still alive I grew up eatting hot dog's. My kids loves them on the grill.
-
I grew up on hot dogs too. But I do think a hot dog every now and then is probably ok. Everything in moderation!

If hot dogs are "killing" you then start eating bratwurst or sausages with that bun they already have spices in em. Also pickles, relish, mustard, ketchup, tomatoes, onions, different kinds of cheese, and other fresh toppings can add a healthful boost.

WOw, that is really bad, Im glad I dont like them I get so grossed out. My son dosent like them either but my brother is a big hot dog eater so Im going to have to tell him this where did you learn about this information

Because everything is coated in pesticides, genetically engineered in some way, or fed things that have been genetically engineered, it's no wonder everyone's so unhealthy. Unless you remove most processed/packaged foods from your children's diets, taking away hot dogs isn't going to help all that much. Unless they specifically fed two different groups of children the exact same foods to both groups every day of their lives (except not hot dogs for one group), and made sure they had identical activity levels, they can't prove it was the hot dogs, and not any of the (possibly hundreds or thousands of) other differences between any given child's upbringing. Someone who feeds their children a large number of hot dogs is generally unable to afford as many healthy organic foods as someone who doesn't feed their kids hot dogs. In that case, of course the child who eats hot dogs will be more likely to get diabetes.

There is always some story like this about what's healthy and not healthy (e.g. chocolate, coffee or something else). I'm not a consistent hog dog eater, but this probably won't change how often I eat them. Bring this up to the hot dog eating contest I hear about in the news and this would probably not have much impact either.

I used to love a good hotdog or sausage dog. But now I am on a low sodium diet. All processed foods are loaded with sodium (salt). I have learned that I was overloading my body with salt. Now I enjoy foods with very low or no salt. I would like to find those low sodium hot dogs but I have found that foods that advertise low sodium still have quite a bit of salt in them which shows me that they were loded with sodium before it was "reduced". :)

I have never heard of that. Hot dogs were the choice food to feed kids Good to know. Thanks.

Consuming alot of products are at risk for giving you diabetes. Maybe they need to examine what is put into them, and they will come out with a healthy choice hot dog, haha.

yes, eating too many hot dogs is definitely not good.....it's disgusting to watch hot dog eating contests.....

ok that awsome to know

HOGWASH!
I'm 73 years old and already have diabetes, but I'm NOT going to stop eating Hot Dogs! in fact I think I'll go have one right now!
Of course I do buy Hebrew National or Nathans instead of the every day junk in the grocery store.

I buy Hebrew National hot dogs. They are prepared to Kosher standards so are probably the best on the market for a semi-healthy hot dog. They are a bit more expensive, but I like them the best. Wal Mart sells them $2.50 a package of 8 (or 7, I can't remember) on sale. Regular price is around $4-$5 a package. They are very flavorful and grill up nice on the grill. A bit skinnier than the regular "plump up when you cook them" dog, but worth it if you crave hot dogs, but want something better manufactured.

I just slide them into a bun and NUKE EM for about 35 seconds, then add gobs of mustard and sweet pickle relish, some tomato wedges, dill pickles, chopped onions, celery salt, hot peppers and YUM YUM!

Well if you look at this way.. then everything we eat is bad for us. I say eat in moderation.
