Today is like living in the cowboy days. Instead of people riding around on their horses shooting and killing people, they are using cars for drive-by shootings. Except in the cowboys days they never brought any harm to the children. Today the bad guys are also writing notes to give to bank tellers telling them this is a hold up, I come to rob the bank. So hand over the money or I will shot.

Maybe you should inform yourself a little more about how things were during the time you so quaintly describe as "the cowboy days." If you mean the so called "wild west," then the fact is that there wasn't nearly as much killing as you see in Hollywood movies. Additionally, not very much of the killing was done by cowboys. They were a relatively rowdy group of people when they had some free time in the towns they passed, but most of the time they were very busy handling cattle and doing those other things that cowboys were employed to do.

I believe most cowboys and farmers and gold prospectors and shop keepers of the "cowboy days" were hard working people. Of course there were those bad guys too. But I belive the difference was that the citizens had to be their own police. This kept most bad guys in line. Whereas today we have to call 911 and wait. :)
