I actually perfer lodging at the poconos

It depends what time of year it is. In late spring and all summer long it's got to be the beach! It's awesome! There is so much action going on and everything is so beautiful. I love the beach! 8) It just rocks! However, when winter's chill hits the air or on a beautiful fall day there is nothing like the Pennsylvania Poconos. Ahhhh! I can't decide, I like them both.
-
I'd say the beach, because I love the ocean. If I was going to stay in the mountains somewhere, I wouldn't choose the Poconos, I'd go to the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia.
-
I would probably prefer a day at the beach but I wouldn't mind lodging during the winter and having some hot cocoa!
-
I used to love the beach but had a horrible experience :crybaby2: I went in the water and got knocked downed 4 times!!! I have been petrified of the ocean ever since (lol!!) but I love getting a tan! But lodging during a cold winter warms me up inside and its the best time to catch up on conversation with a loved one or friends. I guess it depends on which weather you prefer :D

Beach. I've never been to the Poconos but I'm not a mountain person.
-
I've never been to the Poconos, and since I don't really care for the NE in general I'll take the beach in the Southeast
-
I love the mountains but have never been to the Poconos so I'll go with the beach.

I had planned a vacation in August to go to the Poconos for the first time. Cancelled so I could help family out that week. The reason I planned on the mountains was the heat and humidity was so ridiculous. I think we would have enjoyed the Poconos more and been more comfortable. Still look forward to a trip there. Nobody I know has ever been there. I wonder if it is much different than the Smokey Mountains that is only an hour or so away from me.

this is a tough one for me i used to live in the poconos and i live in tampa fl now so i would have to say the ppol i am not in to getting sand kicked in my face and feeling like i haven't shower but thats just me i don't like the cold anymore but i would have to say the poconos it is so preety up there
-
I agree, sand is probably one of the negative of going to the beach! At least lodging you can stay warm and cozy and sip hot cocoa ;D
-
a day at the beach!
-
Both, for me. The beach in the summer and the Poconos in the fall--when the leaves are changing color.
-
Depends on the time of year. I live on the gulf coast but the mountains are fabulous too!
-
Siesta Key Beach, Florida, the fine white sand is awesome! Give me the beach anyday.
-
Day at the beach if there was one near me :angry7:
-
I'd rather go lodging at the poconos
-
90 degrees, 90% humidity, waves rolling gentle onto the sand - the beach 363 days a year. The only two days I would rather be in the poconos is when the sprint cup race is there.
-
If the weather is nice I prefer going to the poconos. There's more to do than just sitting on the sand or swimming in the water.
-
Lodging at the Poconos. I actually did this a couple years ago with my now-husband (he was just a boyfriend back then!) and it was really fun. We went snow-tubing, and had a blast!
-
both. when it nice and hot, the beach. when it's warm or cold at the lodge

poconos

hmmm I guess it all depends for certain individuals.... I saw a post that someone doesn't have the opportunity to go to the beach, since I am around the beach and its the norm to go in the summer, I have gotten used to it and would like to experience something different. I went to the poconos with my boyfriend last year for my birthday and I feel it was more intimate, more fun and I love snow!! I just had an awesome experience with visiting the poconos so I have become very one sided lol
-
I like the beach because there's also the boardwalk with lots of stuff to do.
-
last weekend I went to the gulfport. MS beach its like an hour and half driving from home and we spent the whole weekend their, The beach was great specially for the little girls 2 and 5 years old. we stayed at the courtyard hotel and the girls loved the swimming pool and the atmosphere but nothing compared to their happiness playing in the sand and water on the beach. me too I love beaches a lot
So I would choose the beach :)
-
What is the poconos? Well I guess I choose the beach since I haven't even heard of the alternative. =)
-
I WOULD LOVE THE BEACH BUT TOO FAR FOR ME. SO I'LL GO SIT BY THE POOL INSTEAD . LOL
-
I prefer the beach. I have never really been an out doors kind of girl though. I guess the beach is all I can handle! lol

The Poconos are the mountains in Pennsylvania. A lot of lodges and some all inclusive resorts are what I have seen the most about. Seems pricey but "interesting" accommodations and the price when it includes meals and some entertainment etc aren't that bad. I am curious to check it out some day but have never been there. I had alway heard of the Poconos and I have only heard positive things about the place. Yet I have never heard any specifics from anyone . . . maybe because of the "interesting" accomodations. LOL

A day at the beach.

Def a day at the beach. I'm a florida girl.

Only 4 times? The beaches near us have very rough surf. Even the best of swimmers get knocked down several times.
I love the beach but no longer go in the water like I used to. If I fall I will not get back up.
We should take a trip to the Poconos. It is only 3 hrs from us and would be a nice weekend trip. :)
