Reading celeb gossip can be entertaining from time to time you can be a fan of an artist or actress you know etc. but some people obsess to much like simple things these celebrities do actually impact their lives when they don't what do you think on the topic?

I agree with this. If an average, every day person did some of the things these celebrities do, they wouldn't get noticed. But a celebrity does it and the whole world is talking about it. I understand that they are famous and what-not, and they knew that when getting into the business, but I just don't find it necessary to know every single detail about their celebrity life. Everyone, even celebrities, are entitled to a little privacy.

Yeah, way too obsessive over them.
Some people look up to them as role models. Considering the lifestyles of alot of them, I would want them as role models to my children.

Completely agree to the point it's almost scary. Besides American Idols, I also like some Asian actors. When I go online to make comments on topics about a particular US or Asian actor.... If I say something negative about them or say I dislike his/her lifestyle, crazed fans would email me with threats & alot of profanity! What is it with these crazed fans that blog about say, a drama couple, when they see 1 or the other actor dating or married to another person, they get mad b/c they believe beside the drama as couple, that they're couple in real life! Or when they do a new movie the actor has a different leading from the first drama people who saw the 1st drama dislike the new drama with a new/different leading lady. My response to the stupid crazy threat.... Get A life! LoL...
I could never be a star,actor, or celebrity, What you give up is your privacy & I've seen some of them can't even live a regular life away from the job/public. Which leads to divorce b/c can't separate the public & private lifestyle. The perk side is most of the time they get away with thing more than regular people. Like making bond when you end up in jail. It's not fair that they get away from breaking the law but you or me, we'd be put in jail for lesser crimes that they've done. Society should revise this way of thinking putting celebs on a high pedestal. If they do wrong they should be punished accordingly & viewed negatively. :thumbsup: :wave:

Yup and they get paid way too much.
Like actors get way too much.
All it is is lying. And we already pay politicians for that.
And Athletes.
Yay you can do something others can't do because you're genetically superior.
I'm supposed to pay you and listen to you because of that?
Dangerous precedent.

Yes , I Think We As A Society Obsess Over Celebrities Way To Much!!! most of the people who are talked about as celebs, are only famous cause someone in there family did something..not them!!! :BangHead:

I personally don't feed into the celeb life gossip. they are normal people like us lol.

I believe that our society does obsess to much over celebrities. I also believe that we pay sports player too much money too. Who agree's with me on this. What about teacher's, doctor's, lawyer's, ect...

some people do and others make a living reporting about them and taking photos of them I don't watch these shows or read those type of magazines.

i definetly think we obsess over them way to much. we barely honor the true celebrities- the soldiers who risk their lives every day so that we can have the freedom that we enjoy

I try not to follow that stuff. I have enough going on in my life that I don't need to stalk someone else's.

I don't follow the gossip. I don't go to a lot of movies, am not into pop music, so I don't know who they are talking about half the time.

My friend drives me crazy with all her celeb gossip. She's always on top of everything: who's pregnant, who's in a scandal, who's dating who... it's craziness. I really don't care about celebrities; I think they're overrated.

I agree we care WAY too much about celebrities, I mean what makes them so special that we need to get updates on their lives in various magazines? This is what's wrong with the world today, the media focuses on the wrong things, sending the wrong messages to children growing up.

I dont pay much attention to celebrity happenings either. Oddly enough, I watch a bunch of reality shows tho. I just get hooked on them. Never saw Jersey Shore before, but caught an episode recently then had to watch a whole marathon to get caught up to speed and see the season finale. And if anyone I knew acted like Snookie does, they would have no friends and be outcast, but, she gets away with it!

I couldn't agree more. The celebrity obssession has gotten out of hand. It's like every little thing they do ends up in the news. Sometimes I feel like the celebrity news is pushing the real news out of the way too.

I am defnitely not one of those people. So called celebrities are only people who makes a lot more money than I do. As for any of them being role models-that is a big laugh.

Absolutely!!!!!!!! I find it exceptionally irritating that news channels are consumed with insignificant things when there are more pressing things to be conveying to everyone. Example, Bieber was talked about on the news for a few days....why? Because he trimmed his freakin' hair!!! How exactly is that news!?

I couldn't care less what soma actor thinks. Those who do need something better to do with their lives.

Definitely! I don't know why people put celebrities up on a pedestal. They are no more human than the rest of us. Just because they have money and influence, society thinks they should be catered to.

No kidding!! We really need to monitor ourselves because it is all money driven. We are the consumer and it all gets back to the all mighty dollar! If we don't watch or buy then it can make change. Obviously the masses are driven by these types of things. The trends follow the money . . .
I guess it is human nature to want to focus on someone else's life and problems than face our own sometimes. Curiosity is normal but we need to check ourselves sometimes and ask are we obsessed and why?!!

Ya know, the only people who really follow celebrities are people who haven't ever had an original idea. And by original, i mean people who know how to THINK for themselves. It's very sad, really.

I got an autograph from Daniel Radcliffe outside his Broadway show. There was a kid there who had obviously been there a lot. He knew who Daniel Radcliffe's driver was. That is too much.

I find most of the celebrities to be rather boring, especially film stars. Most of them aren't really very intelligent.

I cant help to read the magazines as I check out at the store so Im no different than most people but I try to remember that they are just people too.. Same as me or you. Would I want someone snapping a picture every second of my life? no i would not so I feel sorry almost for them

Yes way too much there is so much news around the world yet we watch who is wearing what ? Who's going to starbucks and what they are doing and eating. oh my gosh they do laundry they go grocery shopping oh my gosh they are human !!!!
