For what I sell(DVD's, Games, Books, I mainly stick to the big 3, in my case that is:

Amazon Marketplace
Ebay
Craigslist

All 3 have their pro's and cons, with Amazon being my favorite of the 3.

I really don't know about selling I just bought things from amazon and ebay, I can trust in amazon but I hate to say ebay I don't trust on it at all most of the sellers are not telling the truth about what they sell and the protection policy of ebay is so  weak

What about those auction sites that you buy bid packages?  I've seen a lot of good things go dirt cheap on there ~ a few cents each ~ and have wondered what the catch is to it?  It looks like you have to buy bid packages first.  That may be where they get you.  Has anyone tried one of those?  I've not been brave enough to try yet since I have limited resources to play around with.

I just tried my hand at ebay no luck my items didn't sell.  I have a couple things with craigslist right know the site is kind of confusing.  Hopefully it all works out.

You can earn money from these sites, but be aware that they charge a service fee (ebay takes 18%).  That adds up!

I sell a lot on eBay.   They do charge a lot for fees, but your item will sell for top dollar.  I am happy to pay 18% in fees to get my items in front of millions of potential customers.  CraisList is good at times, but you need to be careful with scammers and lowballers.  I do manage to sell quite a few things on there that are too big to ship.  Good luck.

I have sold a few items on Craigslist.  You have to know what items are selling well.

I sell on ebay, and their fees have really increased since I started selling on there a few years ago. I wish there was another online auction site as big as them, but not so costly. After you calculate the listing fees, fees for any listing upgrades, final value fees, along with Paypal's fees, I really don't see a profit. I just keep hoping that will change soon or I will find myself no longer selling on there.

It all depends on what you sell and what people are willing to pay. I mainly sell music on ebay, but sometimes other things. I try to attract people by starting the bids low, but most of my items stay at the starting bid. I get a few decent ones here and there, but nothing spectacular. I have alot of buyers who buy in bulk since I offer combined shipping, however, most of them won't bid high on any of the items. As far as Craigslist, I used to sell on there weekly, but there are too many people who want the items for free, lowballers or no shows.

I sell on ebay, but I buy alot too. I have to admit there are alot of shady sellers out there. Although, it can be a headache going back and forth with the seller, opening a claim and shipping the item back to them, ebay has a really good buyer protection policy. They will not allow them to get away with being dishonest in their listings.
