Title: RIP Anne McCaffrey
Post by: Graeth on November 22, 2011, 09:27:22 pm
Farewell, Dragonlady (http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/anne-mccaffrey-has-died_b42826)

I loved the majority of her books.
Her Pern universe will always be a great part of my childhood.
In my opinion, the quality of writers has been degrading the past decade or so; and its sad to see a great figure leave as well.

My girlfriend reads everything Anne McCaffrey has written and she'll be sad to learn there will be no more of these engaging stories.

I was wondering why that name seem so familiar. How sad so many people of talent are just expiring left & right. She feed my Dragon stage with her dragon books. If I can recall, dragonsong, dragonstar, dragondance,dragondreams....!
Thanks for sharing your gift & talent by creating your stories. Though you're no longer physically here, your dragon stories will keep you a live forever. RIP Anne or dragonLady!  :peace:

Its so saddening; these wonderful writers retire and pass on, and the new writers who come up to prominence are those that write things like twilight.
I know people claim that books are a dead media, and it may be true; but that doesn't have to mean great stories die as well.
I plan to go through everything I've got of hers when I finish exams.
