I made up my mind! Actually I'm starting out slowly right now...I made a decision to get healthy in 2012. I have 100 pounds to lose and I'm starting the food lovers fat loss plan and doing some things on my own. I want to give you all my updates on a daily basis if thats ok. Anyone care to join me? I want to do this for the whole year because we could all stand to become more healthy and eat the right foods to avoid getting diabetes, heart disease and other sickness. Both my parents died of diabetes and heart disease and my sister died of heart disease and this was in the 2009/2010 timeframe! This is very personal to me. SO LETS GET HEALTHY TOGETHER AND FILL ME IN ON YOUR DAILY PROGRESS/WEIGHT LOSS...ETC!

I am there with you, lets do it!. My father also passed away of heart disease and he had diabetes in 2007. What is this diet you are going on? I have never heard of it. I am going to research it. Definitely count me in!

I have never had a weight problem myself/but I know the importance of maintaining a healthy weight. My husband had bypass surgery 15 years ago and I try to monitor everything he eats because of it. He could loose 50 pounds! I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions to help make it easier on him since I would like to keep him around for awhile! A new husband would be too much trouble to train; don't you think? ??? ::)

I will be trying to lose wait at the end of January or beginning of Feb. I have a small surgery on Jan 6th so I have to wait until I heal up good, but since we are not planning on having anymore kids I want to get back to my old size. It will be a good healthy diet and exercise. I had our last a year ago and know I am getting my tubes tied and some things they have to fix, then I don't have to worry about getting pregnant and gaining it all back again. That is what happened after my first one. Now i can focus on me while my youngest is napping and the other is at school. My goal is 60 pds at least! From size 12 to size 4 again!

I did good yesterday! I got on the tredmil for 30 minutes and ate mostly fruits and vegetables with salmon! But today however, not so good. I was out all day shopping and I'm about to head back out to the mall so my eating was not so good. Yesterday I was watching the Dr. Phil show and it was about a new diet program for women and it's about eating the most nutrition per calorie amount each day and consists of mostly fresh fruits and vegetables and good sources of protein. The exercise plan is in phases (I think 3) and each phase has very doable exercises and you start out slow. The plan is called THE PINK METHOD and the website is: http://www.pinkmethod.com. I'm also doing some parts of THE FOODLOVERS FAT LOSS PLAN and that website is: www.foodloversfatloss.com. I havent really looked into the Pink method, but from what I saw on Dr Phil, it looks like a healthy plan and some people really lost alot of weight on this plan. when you don'thave food you will lose weight, think I have a good start now
That is not always true. On another note it is also not a very healthy way to lose weight. This past year I have lost around 80 pounds. Since June I have been so stressed I have hardly ate anything. To be honest it has drained me. I am tired and wore out all the time. I am trying to get back to a healthier way of losing the weight, I still have another 50 pounds to lose before I am happy.

I've been trying to get into shape. It's not easy. You have to really commit. But i'm trying.

First Of All I am sorry to hear of your loss.......next I want to say I admire what you a trying to accomplish and gl (personally I am trying to gain weight) so I can't help you but if you want to send me a few lbs....... :) Once Again gl.

Losing weight is a great health benefit, but just as important is a healthy diet. I learned a lot about nutrition from The China Study and Skinny *bleep*.
Both show the huge importance of what you eat, primarily fruits and vegetables. Worth the reads if you are wanting a jump start! Good luck!!

It also help to go out and walk for at least 30 minutes 3-4 days out of the week. I need lose about 5 pounds right now but I know I can do it and we all can do it. We just have to take it one day at a time. The hardest part for me is starting it but I know once I do it'll get easier.

I have committed to losing weight and getting more physically fit in 2012 and I have am putting together a physical fitness challenge that will compel people at work to push themselves harder! Watching my diet, preparing food in advance, creating six smaller meals per day and excercise at leat four times per week are in my plan and I want to compete in an ultra-marathon before September. I have been sidelined with an injury for the last fifteen months and am hoping that the doctors allow me to start pushing myself!

First, I am so sorry for your losses. And how cool that you are motivating yourself to make a difference in your own life. What a great idea and good for you for using this venue to get people together. This is perfect. A support system and a way of making money combined. Love your idea and you can count me in! I would love to hear more about the "Food Lovers Diet" you mentioned in your post.

Mine is at 230 today.I want to get down to at least 140.Gonna take it 1 day at a time.Christmas was not good,had an argument with my daughter.Granddaughters Christmas got messed up because of it.So I am a little depressed right now.Usually when I get depressed I eat,not this time.I haven't had anything to eat since yesterday morning.I know I should eat,but I am not hungry.So.

Count me in, I have been trying to lose weight all of my life (it sees that way) anyway I would like to lose 100 pounds and I have knee problems, but I will not let that stop me, so let's encourage each other.

Count me in too. I am on four blood pressure pills a day and want off of them. Both my parents had diabetes. My mom has since passed away
from problems caused by a low thyroid. But my dad was able to lose all excess weight and get off his blood pressure and diabetes medications and still is off today. I would like to lose 60 lbs.

I started doing something at the first of the year which is really working for me with weight loss and it's easy. I require myself to drink a glass of water before I eat anything. I won't even start preparing the food until I drink the water. That way if I want a snack I get the water in there first and I am finding it gives me plenty of time to think about what I am going to eat. I have changed my choices a few times just because of the extra time to think. PLUS I am getting lots of water in my system which is keeping me well hydrated and I am constantly flushing sodium, extra. It's working well for me so wanted to share it. Hope everyone is doing well!

I just had my surgery on the 6th so in 6 weeks I will be ready to go. Then I will be in everything with you. How have you been doing by the way?

I'm all for losing weight in 2012! Starting out well....walk the dog every day, take a yoga class once a week and I am eating healthy. BUT, lets see how long this lasts. Been down this road several times. Seems like these good intentions start the year off with a bang then fizzle out after a month or two. How do you stay on track? That bag of chips sure look good after a few weeks.

Good Luck to you!! It's great to make up your mind to do something and stick with it. I'm trying small steps like eating healthier and trying not to stress about things and worry. If I can do that then I know I will feel much better and happier. happy new year to you!
