i feel that they are to quick heck we just got done with new years and they got the valentines day and easter stuff out already it is crazy they need to let you get threw one before bringing out the next holiday
-
I think it shows them as being very greedy.

It's rediculous, I walked in the store right after christmas and thought I missed New years cause valentines were going up on display.
-
its like that every year and getting worse can't really do anything about it but yes i will grab the hersheys marshmallow heart like tomorrow

I agree. Christmas decorations coming out in August? Easter decorations coming out in January? I think that these two early attacks undermine the real reason for these two Holidays which has nothing to do with commercialization. I hate to bah humbug but spending two days on a ladder putting up Holiday lights? Does this really capture the reason for the season? In the mean time we turn our back on the homeless and needy? Watching our relatives over-indulge? Taking time away from our own children to watch our extended family over-indulge?

I agree and it's unfortunate..it's not just holidays though it's seasonal stuff too..we've had an easy winter so far but once the snow hits you can't even go out and get hats gloves or boots in January because spring clothes are out already. I don't like to procrastinate and wait til the last minute to get stuff like that but you never know whats going to happen and i'm so angry that I can't find boots or winter clothes in the winter. Retailers need to just relax for a month, people will still buy holidays stuff but we don't need to buy Valentine's day or easter stuff on new years day!!!!

It goes to show you how commercialized the holidays are now a days.
I see the stuff but it doesn't make me buy things for that holiday any sooner.

I know! I was surprised to see valentines day stuff ALREADY.

I hate it. About 5 days ago I put a pair of great leather boots @ a great price in my shopping cart on a site I use a lot. I went back, just 2 days later, to buy them and got a mesage when I logged into my account: "They were removed by the site due to summer inventory now being stocked. Please check back later in the year."
Seriously? They just refused, basically, to make $125+ from that sale alone [not to mention I will probably stop spending future monies there also] and in a 'bad economic situation' for retailers?! I even called to make sure it wasn't because they no longer had them in my size and was told the same thing. :P
