what type of car do you have? I am looking into getting one for my son and I am in left field here. His father is not in the picture so no help there.

Well, you can try Toyota or Honda if you want a good reliable car for your son. That's the route I went when I was looking for a car. I have a toyota corolla, and it has yet to fail me. It gets great gas mileage too. They aren't speedy little sport cars, but they will do :)

I agree, Toyotas and Hondas are good reliable cars with great gas milage and they hold their value. I've had a Honda Civic, a Honda Accord and a Toyota Corolla. My next car will be a Honda Element. You can probably find him a good used model for a reasonable amount.

I am a 69 year old grandfather with 2 sons. Their first vehicles were pick up trucks. They are safer because they are not perceived as speed cars. Also if you get the regular cab they will not have a car full of kids in the back seat. Also they can make extra money moving things. Good Luck. :)

I dont have one and my legs don't work too well either.

Our son just turned 16 and we got him a Ford Taurus. It is a good car plus its the best on insurance for a male of that age...Thats the biggy...insurance....

Now here's a tip from a WISE MAN!
Make it one of the little 4 cylinder trucks that gets terrific mileage and costs less to insure.

I'd have to agree with the truck people. My son had a couple of cars to start with but couldn't keep from hitting other cars until he got a little Ford Ranger ;D

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada and it looks great, but gas mileage sucks... however, it is paid for and I plan to drive it until it won't go anymorei!

Thank you everyone.

My son is an import mechanic, and he has told me that Toyotas will run absolutely forever, although he's a Nissan fan.
