I know it is not that logical, cause this is a buisness and everyone needs to make money, but...
It is a freaking NIGHTMARE to try and cancel the 'trial' services that require your CC number. Those make me extreamly nervous and I do not trust them. (Been burned before.) And unfortunately, most of the offers on here require that!
It would be awesome to have more offers in your "no CC needed" section.
-
I totally agree with this!
there needs to be more offers that dont require credit card!
-
yeah...i usually steer clear of those offers too, bc i'm scared that either i'll forget to cancel on time, or the cancellation will not go all the way through. i'm sure FC posts all the "no CC needed" offers they get. it'd be nice to have more available though.
-
i have not done any of those kind of offers except for netflix, it also makes me nervous
-
I agree...If we here its because we need makey money...I think more polls could help
-
I no, I wish that there were more non credit card offers
-
The Columbia House deal aint too bad if you buy the 5 dvds for like $12 but in the year you need to buy 5 $20 movies from them for it to work.
But I agree, I steer clear from these but it's probably how FC makes it's money.

If I peruse through their terms and conditions and stay on top of schedule, then the "free trials" are easy to deal with.
-
I usually just stay organized with these. For some it can be a hassle but I have a clipboard full of paper and keep track of all the offers, URL, trial period, and phone number. This way I don't have to rummage through my scrambled brain to rely on my memory.
-
has anyone had any problems getting out of any "free trails"?
-
These trials shouldnt be a problem if you read the terms and conditions very carefully before signing up. From my experience most of them tell you exactly how many days you have to cancel and what phone number or email to contact to cancel. What I do is keep a list of all the trials i sign up for on my desktop in a notepad file or whatever and list in the file exactly how to cancel and what date i need to do it by. Then just erase it off the file when its cancelled.
This keeps everything nice and organized and I have yet to run into any problems with being charged for anything.

this is true

You should only do offers that your interested in. Don`t do an offer just to later turn around and cancel. See for me when i do an offer its because i am interested in the product or service.
-
Completely agreed. But here's a thought for the trial offer ones: use a prepaid credit card gift card.
-
WE WANT MORE OFFERS~!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! 8) :dontknow: :crybaby2: :angel12:
-
yep, I'm here 2 make money not spend money. (not that I have any) :crybaby2:

I totally agree with you. Not only would it be nice to have more offers that dont require cc's but also if the ones that dont nee cc's could provide a greater incentive and be worth more. Because although your not giving out your cc number, you are giving out your personal info and it still takes time non the less.
-
yeah but FC has to make money off the free offers too. as stated above, this is a business, they cant just hand out money for fun.
-
I completely agree, I never do the offers that CC's are required for. I feel like there are not many other offers, so i would love to see more instantly credited free offers!
-
ya ive been burned too! damn them! i hate that we have to call to cancel anything, then when i call DURING THE TIME THEY HAVE LISTED no one picks up!

yeas, I agree. There are way to many scams out there that just can't be trusted.
-
Some people want the offers that are in here, though, so you can't eliminate all the credit card offers! I'm not one of them, but what about the people who DO want to do them? I think they should be made available, but people need to use common sense when signing up for things!!
-
I have done the cc offers. I cancel during the timeframe and never have a problem. If I do, I know my bank is there to protect me (or VISA rather), Also I use an online cc that I get through my bank. It's shop safe so it can only be used once over the internet. Call your bank. Mine is bank of america and most offer these cards. Gives you peace of mind.

Yeah, I agree. I made a purchase which is something I wanted and got credit for it. The only disadvantage to the free trials is that they automatically put pending into your credit card, and not just the fee they said, but some other extra fees that you might fail to read in the fine print. In the end, if ou do your homework and speak up about your credit card concerns the these offers, it might just be alright.

When calling to cancel, be FIRM. Yes it is their job to try and keep you or to keep you on for an extended trial period. Just be firm say NO. Don't ever worry about hurting their feelings. I tell them " I know it's your job to offer me that and to keep me as a customer but, my mind is already made up and I need to cancel" - that's it.
Be diligent about keeping all records of these offers: time, date, through which link, phone #'s, emails, and write yourself a big reminder of the cancel date.

I just obtained a prepaid credit card to use for some of the offers that require cc#. I don't want to forget to cancel in time. I had heard there is a $5.00 prepaid card available, but have not been able to find one. The lowest I could find is $20.00. I figure if I signup for several offers, it won't take long to max out the card....and then the card won't have any more funds to do any renewal fees.
Does this make sense? Or am I confused? Thanks
-
I agree. I hope this doesn't happen to me. I have not done this until now. If I am burned I will give out my cc number again.
-
I have been tempted to do a free trial offer or two but was really afraid to use my credit card over one of these sites. I do have a credit card I use only for the internet (so I can cancel it if anything funky happens.) One of these days I will try one of these offers and see if all goes well.
-
I totally agree with this!
there needs to be more offers that dont require credit card!
You see, credit card and even social security number requirements are some of the problems a few of the sites giving out offers/jobs have. It's quite frustrating. What's even worse is that I don't have a credit card to use.
-
Ya the first day i signed up it felt like i ran out of free offers. I NEED more free ones lol ........PLEASE? ::)
-
you got to be careful with those hidden fees or you'll get crushed $$$
-
seems like a great idea
more offers would help. 8)
-
i totally agree with that because i have been burned before to and it is hard for me to get a credit card that isnt prepaid and that is troble in it slef to
-
i dont trust the CC offers either
-
yea im the same way
-
Yes I agree...a few more no cc required offers would be great!
