my friend has a kid that wants to learn how to drive but her mom and dad told her no i told them to hire someone to teach her or get a friend that can whats your advise neither mom or dad can drive and they say it is to dangerous i say i would teach her but haven't got a answer on that yet

Well all you can do is give your advice especially if there child is a minor. I know driving is dangerous but you can reason that if there child had the proper training there could learn how to watch for some of these danergers and prevent the accidents that might occure from being inexperienced.

Of course, it is ultimately the parents decision, but you can try to show them that it is not as dangerous as they fear. By the way, how old is the kid? If 16, maybe they want to wait until 18, so the kid is more mature. Maybe they just feel he's not ready. On the other hand, being that neither parent drives, I think they are being overly paranoid. maybe you can try to persuade them by telling them that in case of an emergency, it would be helpful to have one driver in the house. I don't know what they use for transportation now, but there are so many situations where it would be necessary to have a driver, especially as the parents get older.

It is the parent's choice........but where do these people live that they can get along without anyone driving? Most places have driving schools and classes at school that you can take for driver's training. Maybe if the kid took the drivers training at school, they could start slow with that?

It's the parents choice until the child turns 18. Either way they should hire a professional to teach the child since they have not seen there parents drive it may be more difficult for them as compared to someone who has been in the car with their parents since they were born. Also, from an insurance stand point I would not suggest that you teach them how to drive.

teach her on dirt roads untill shes comfortable.

Proper training is very important. The accident rate for 18 year olds is rising due to the fact they can get a license without driver education.
If they can pass the test, they can get a license. 16 year old accident rates are LOWER than 18 year old accident rates likely due to the training they receive.

Talk to them and explain them how dangerouse it is NOT to learn how to drive, talk to them about advantanges and disadvantages of driving. What if they have an emergency, they just can't call the emergency in every ocassion. Sometimes there are different ocassions where,,, well where I live the emergency number is 911. Good luck hope you convince them and nothing bad happens because then they will blame you :crybaby2: :dontknow:
