I have never thought the two were the same. Wealthy is having enough to get what you want and need, plus having enough to make your whole family happy for a long time. Rich is having more money then you will ever need, and you dependents would ever be able to use. I would rather be wealthy, because I don't think anyone really needs to be rich. If you are rich you can normally help more people then you do. You stay rich by being greedy. Its nice to have enough money to be happy for the rest of you life, but what is the point in hording money you don't get to have in the end and your family will never need it all.

"Wealth" is the subjective value of resources or possessions. This can fluctuate depending upon abundance or rarity/supply and demand. "Rich" nominally refers to monetary affluence. Being monetarily-rich means having the financial resources to accrue wealth.

You also have to consider that you are not either until you have more passive income in then you have bills going out. I think if this is something you are interested in learning about, then everyone should read rich dad poor dad and play the game cash flows. I love it! It's a great game to teach you some things that will happen in real life. There might be a new version then the one I have though. My uncle had us all play at a very young age. He thought everyone should be good at budgeting.

Your first sentence is spot on. I have read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" as well and that was the first thing I thought about in regards to true wealth. Very good book for those who haven't read it.

I would love as much money as possible so I could help as many people as possible.
