To build or not to build??
Build it and the oil will come forth.

NO WAY! A duck might get oil on him.

Absolutely not. I am completely against the Keystone pipeline. In all honestly, I'm against the use of fossil fuels. We have to stop destroying the Earth in search of them. There are better alternatives, and these better alternatives DO NOT have to be so expensive. One of the greatest sources the world could be using (and quite honestly should have been using all these years & never once used fossil fuels) is the hemp plant. Its oil can do what we need, and do it better. Its green, sustainable, eco-friendly, easily renewable....... yet illegal. How that makes sense to anyone is completely beyond me. :BangHead:

I agree with you shade tree, Hemp is a great plant for fuel, But until some one comes up with a better plan we will be using oil. I have pictures of the pipeline in alaska and it sure hasn't stopped the migration of animals there, they use if for shade. It would make more sense to have our own oil right here and not export any ( already being done), and would not be supporting these countries that hate us so much.

I don't want to see this pipeline built.Advocates in favor of building it cite employment opportunity; these will only be temporary jobs--once it is built, they're gone. They also cite our own homegrown oil. The truth is that the oil is for export not internal use. Why do you think it ends at a major harbor? The effect on our environment will be enormous.
You know what?? Until we max out our use of solar and wind power to generate our fuel needs nothing like this should even be considered! This of course, won't happen because of all the oil interests in the world who only think of profit and not the good of the earth.

I'll bet anyone for the Pipeline only argues with you about the second part of your comment. The reason? The first part is spot on and they can't really spin it. They have just been told by Rush Limbaugh and Fox news that anyone against this Pipeline are tree huggers that only care about the environment.

If everyone built a solar charger for their home we would be much more energy independent and it would create jobs. Why are we not doing it?
-
I think they will build it weather we want it or not. Just think of the 5 dollars a gallon gas.

Okay, I will bite and try the first point. The oil pipeline wouldn't just transport oil to major harbors, but that act would make sense since it is crude oil that needs to be refined at refineries. Why don't you look at a map and see where they are located and compare that to all the places the pipeline is to travel and connect to. You will learn something rather informative.
Regardless of whether this oil is refined her or in China, what do you think is going to happen to it? Do you think they are going to eat it in China or use it as fuel? Who do you think could do a better job during refinement at reducing any environmental impact, America or China?
Temporary jobs are better than no jobs and I am sure those people needing work would readily point that out to you.
Solar? Wind? If you are advocating them and not currently using them we obviously can see what is wrong with the picture.
