Does anyone remember the show Capt. Kangaroo with Mr. Green Jeans. I used to love that show as a child. They sure dont make shows for kids like that anymore do they? ;D
-
I do remember that show and vaguely remember the characters. At the time I liked it but thought it a bit corny. It was a interesting show.

Watched that show a few times growing up! Cannot remember all the charactors on the show thou.

Yes I remember Capt Kangaroo. Rocky and Bullwinkle were also on the show with Mr Green Jeans. As a kid I enjoyed it, but now I think it is pretty corny. Your right, don't make those kind of shows anymore.

I remember this show well too! I remember all the characters koolcraftlady mentioned, as well as:
Grandfather Clock, and Bunny Rabbit...(not sure on the rabbit's name...is that the right name or not?)

I loved the Capt. Kangaroo show. My kids also loved it when they were young. Of course looking back or watching it now it is corny........it is geared for young children not adults. A few of the baby development shows I have watched I thought oh brother, I was ready to change the channel, but our little granddaughter started laughing and talking to us about it and pointing and laughing.......it was geared towards her age not ours! LOL [color]

I loved Capt. Kangaroo and Sesame Street. Didn't like Mr. Rogers that much. As an adult when my kids were little I found I still liked Sesame Street. i still dig Cookie Monster. Sure are a lot more kids shows today. I think the quality of the stuff directed towards the preschoolers is much better then that of the older kids.

I watched that show regularly as a kid. I remember the Captain, Mr Green Jeans, Mr Bunny Rabbit and Mr Moose. I remember Shari Lewis and Lamb Chops too but don't remember if I saw them on that show or another. Some of my better childhood memories. :)

His name was just Bunny Rabbit. He was my favorite. That was sooooo long ago and I was really little, so I don't remember much more, but I loved Bunny.

Long time ago for me. I was a little girl.
-
I feel the same way. Captain Kangaroo was the best.
Remember that lady with Lambchops? Sherri Lewis?? Her show was cute too.
-
The little people who lived in the bookcase were the borrowers. There was a whole series of books about them that I loved when I got a bit older.

I remember watching Captain Kangaroo as a kid. I liked Mr. Green Jeans, and loved bunny rabbit - particularly the running joke with the ping pong *bleep*. That always made me laugh.
I also recalled one year my mom got me signed up for the Picture Pages segment of the show - I had my own Picture Page book to work along with Bill Cosby. I thought it was so cool. I still remember that theme song (Picture Pages. Picture Pages. Time to get your Picture Pages. Time to get your crayons and your pencils. Picture Pages. Picture Pages. Open up your Picture Pages. Time to let Bill Cosby do a Picture Page with you!)
