Title: who goes to flea markets
Post by: aggie49 on March 17, 2012, 01:51:04 pm: yes i do not as much as i used to but i do go to find alot of good buys i bought a painting a couple months ago and had ir appraised and it is worth 10000 i paid 5 dollars for it

But down in the southern part of the state they had a couple of good ones and you could find some good bargins. Until they started letting the Mexicans bring in new items from Mexico and then it started going down hill. Oh well that is usually the way it goes. If i had a flea market i would not let them do it. We have talked about building one here where we live, but it would mean always being here on weekends. I don't know how well it would do.

Post by: jwallbank on March 18, 2012, 11:18:22 am: I love flee markets!! The problem is in my area they do not open until at least Apr 15. I wish they would be open year round!! I guess they could not do that because most are outdoors. The other problem is that the closest Flee Market to me is about 40 miles. There are not all that many around me. That is also dissapointing.

:o Wow ! Congrats ! I go to Flea Markets but mainly just to walk and see, not much buying. I actually should sell my stuff, my garage is already full.

I always go to the dollar section to see what I can score real cheap. I like crafting, so I love finding odds and ends with my crafts. I have also sold at flea markets, and I have never done as well as when I have a yard sale, and even then its kind of tough. (I realize that it was probably because my items were not all that interesting). In any event, yes I do go to flea markets, and since you have mentioned it I think I might stop by this weekend to see what I can find. I think people who avoid them just because its used stuff are missing out. Its not just about finding hidden gems (it does happen) but its also about finding items you need and want at a fraction of the price. And if it doesn't work out, you are not out much, which is harder to say if you buy something from a regular store. If you do purchase something that you find out later you don't want, you can always sell it back in your own yard sale or flea market table, or donate it to charity. Someone will find a use for it. :cat:

Another man's trash is another man's treasure. It is easy to find great deals and you can even try to negotiate with the vendors. I've bought plenty of things from there before.

Wow- that is incredible. My husband and I love flea markets and yard sale. We never found anything of the value that you did, but he did find a signed original print that was valued at several hundred dollars- he paid $1 for it.

I used to go to the swapmeet at the old drive in :BangHead:near my house but it was torn down and turned into a home depot. I tried starting a swap meet import business but found people wanted to purchase my items at below wholesale pricing
