Title: Any success with the Mall?
Post by: ssmsurvey on March 19, 2012, 08:52:33 am
Has anyone found the Mall worth while?
My husband's birthday is this week and I have been planning on buying him a nook for a long time. I decided to go though the Mall and get some reward for doing it instead of going to the store. The item I purchased was $199 with $12+ in shipping. The reward took a few days to come through and was only $1.97. I should have gone to the store because now I wasted about $10. Hmmm...

Did you account for the gas you would have used going to the store? Not only that, but my time is worth something and I would rather spend it making more money online than shopping.

A lot of times if you buy a certain amount of things you can get free shipping.  Then it makes it worthwhile.

I think it's only worthwhile of you were going to buy an item online anyway.  If you're only doing it to make money it's probably not worth it.  I've shopped at Kohl's a few times and got a little back but I just look at as a bonus because I wouldn't have done anything differently if FusionCash didn't offer any money for shopping there.

I have found a couple of things at the mall, that I am thinking of purchasing. I do like the idea of being able to shop on line and get credit etc. Well back to my browsing, Have a great day!

I wonder take the item(s) you are deciding to buy and see if it is worth it between online shopping or traditional shopping. Sometimes you get a better deal online sometimes not. Take the shipping & handling charges and figure it out with what you would spend in transportation to the store. Compare prices. The % you may get back might or might not be worth it. Unless you are planning to buy online already like for mp3's or other things. Just cause you are getting cash back doesn't mean it is worth spending more for the item!

I purchased a few things at the mall that I would have bought online anyway.  That's the best way to do it since you're really getting free money from something you would have bought online to begin with.  I love the mall, I think it's awesome.

I am interested in trying it but was wondering how long it would take to get to my house. Hmmm I might have to treat myself with something soon to test it out.

It's moe of a matter of convience than savings...Hint Searh the internet for "coupon codes" or "promotional codes" or "discount codes"..Example:
type "Target promotional codes" in your seach engine. If you find a code, there will be a box on your checkout page to type it in. Hit apply and your discount will show..usually 5 to 10%. That could offset the loss you had .

I tried this the other day when I was looking for new nightgowns for my mom.  Just so happened I found them at a site using the Fusion Cash Mall feature, so I got a little extra buying something she needed anyway.  So--I see it as a nice little extra for something I would have bought anyway.  And--I got an extra dollar or so.

After reading everyone's posts here I guess I'll have to try it.  Probably only makes sense if it is something you were planning on buying online.

It clearly states on the mall's page for Barnes and Noble, that you will earn 1% back of your purchase so you should have received $1.99. Are you upset about the two cents or the 1%? Also, if you buy a Nook from B&N you are entitled to free shipping so you might want to look into that.
