A neighbor's dog has serious back pain.
Animals have similar health problems that human beings do.
I wonder if the animals were healthier 100 years ago when we human beings were living on farms.

How do you know what kind of pain a dog is in. That is strange.
-
Just like a child animals show pain by making sound. A dog would be quiet and lay back.
-
Animals also show pain in their movements. If a dog is fairly young but shows distress when running or climbing....even choosing easier paths, this could be sign of the dog having pain. Certainly dogs can whine and vocalize pain. Animals can also pull muscles just like humans. Or even have a disease which is attacking their muscle growth.

I grew up on a farm with several pets and they showed thier pain in thier eyes. Most would wander off on thier own and hide at thier ending of life.

Dog with long backs are more prone to back problems. I have Corgis but I've been lucky and only had a few problems.

I'm guessing that's your Corgi in your profile pic? Super cute!!!

Maybe they just asked the dog, "Hey Dog! How is your back feeling?" , and the dog answered "rough!...rough!...rough!"
Just my guess.

I have a maltese....she is very prcious to me

we had a miniature dachshund when i was growing
up, and i guess that breed (and probably other very
short, long breeds) are prone to back problems
if they are overweight. we had to be careful about
feeding her scraps and things...

Hmmm... Good point. My former neighbor's cat had diabetes.
