MY daughter and her friends share alot of teenage drama with me..I love having that closeness with her.

that's great that you are able to share things with her. Just make sure she knows that you are the parent and she is the kid. Sometimes I think kids think that b/c they are close with their parents that they can do things and get away with it!

Kids are a true reward whether your own, adopted, or others. They are so often full of truth, purity and have a way of reviving even the oldest of us. I wanted to have kids without ever getting married! Teaching them new things, seeing life through their eyes. Giving everything that you can to them so that their life is, hopefully, better than ours...yet not spoiling them or creating false expectations. Helping them conquer life's adversities through the benefit of your wisdom and experience. Being admired for teaching them something new or exposing them to something they didn't know existed.

My teenage girls are very close to me, I know they do not tell my everything but close enough, they also know that I better know what has happened from them when it happens that if I learn from a 3rd party or school, then the punishment would be worse. As for learning what is going on with them, just drive them and you will here all the gossip. It is fun to learn without them even realizing it. One time they said something in front of me, later my daughter came to me and said something and I asked her but was it this. Her friend looked at her and said How does your mom know that? and my daughter told her that I had that typoe of magic power LOL if they only realized that they told me themselves.
