Yes, I believe in God...
Hebrews 11:1 "...it is by faith we believe"
As a Christian, I often think of Job who was tested beyond anything I could ever imagine. God allowed the worst to happen to Job (i.e., lost his livestock, home, family & health) Job never turned away from God.
As Christians, we should remember that God is with us through the "good, bad, & ugly." There is a reason for everything. And we are often closer to God during the tough times.

Yes I do. God is my source; he is my life and my everything. If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be???

You wouldn't be mired in superstitious delusion, for one thing.

Well, since we can easily determine your unstated answer to this question, tell us if you 'know' God is not real or if you are simply ignorant of whether God exists or not? I personally believe in God, and likely not for the same reasons as others since I am highly skeptical of most things.

I 'know' that no one who has claimed that the "god" they believe in has produced verifiable evidence that what they believe in exists.

Do you believe this because you have substantive evidence beyond merely the belief or, are you simply ignorantly superstitious concerning this one area and skeptical in other areas?

I believe in God. I also believe in Aliens so, take it with a grain of salt.

I would take that with an entire salt mine, were it not for sodium intake restrictions.

... i know its hard for you to see that right now but you just need to keep praying and keep asking him for help. he likes that.
How would you know what a hypothetical being likes? Are you further hypothesizing?

I understand; such 'blind faith' comes much more easily to some than to others. The "problem", (a misnomer in this instance), is that some people have functional reasoning skills and others seem to be religious adherents.
now if you dont thats your problem but i do.
It isn't a problem for me to be skeptical of religious superstitions however, it is much more a a problem for 'believers' to provide any evidence for what they belief in.
everyone has their own beliefs i dont have to believe in what you believe in so ..........
True, you are as free to believe any manner of superstitious nonsense you choose to; just as I am to disbelieve the same. Here's the crux of the matter; just as you are free to make emply religious proclamations, so too are others free to post dissenting/opposing viewpoints.
-
whatever ....
Ah, the usual unthinking response on par with "so what?", "says you" and "that's your problem, not mine."
that reply was not for you
Perhaps not however, it was posted on the public off-topic forum where anyone who wants to reply, can. This isn't something that you get to decide. I know, that's a bummer for religious adherents who are attempting to implicitly censor dissenting others, (that's already happened several times before and isn't a shocking surprise).
so if you have free time and you dont know what to do with but just to disagree with other people's opinion thats your problem not mine
Fortunately, others are able to disagree, agree, challenge or oppose other people's empty opinions, (religious ones or, otherwise). You may not like having your empty opinion challenged but, "that's your problem, not mine." The solution is relatively simple; use the 'ignore' function on FC to avoid having your blind faith questioned, (at least insofar as you'll not see such opposing viewpoints, not that they'll go away).

I replied to your inane responses, you avoided addressing those replies directly and went with "get a life". Thanks, I have one, (whether or not I choose to apply some of my time to helping you waste yours is certainly my decision to make).

I didn't grow up going to church, and I wouldn't consider myself a religious person--but I believe that there has to be something that started all of this--the big bang couldn't have come from nothing! What I do know is that if you consider yourself a religious person, then bad things are just a part of life. I believe that things happen for a reason, and I like to take the positive out of every situation, otherwise life would be pretty depressing 8) Oh and anyone who needs to tell someone to "get a life" should worry about their own life and not everyone elses.

Yes however, attributing it to a hypothetical deital source doesn't follow authomatically, (consider such alternatives as emergent theories).

Presumably, telling someone else to "get a life" is intended as a diversion from the fact that they had no significant rebuttal.

This is a very valid point falcon--I believe the old saying "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."
-
Yes, I do believe in God, but I don't attend church every Sunday to 'prove' my faith.

Somehow, I suspect that most religious adherents do believe they are saying something "good", (and that any dissenting viewpoint represents saying the opposite in order to fall under the "don't say anything at all" part of that colloquilism). The way I see it, these publically-posted religious opinions which promote superstitious religious beliefs don't fall under "saying something good"; hence the dissenting replies.

It isn't "faith" for which "proof" is being requested; it's hard evidence in the existence of what religious adherents have "faith" in. Got any?
