Post by: SaosiNH on March 03, 2009, 03:22:02 pm: I have both. I use my desktop more because for some reason my laptop can't hold a wireless signal for more than 30 seconds before it disconnects. If that didnt happen I would definitely use that more. I use my laptop pretty much for schoolwork.

Are you trying to decide which to buy? or what is preferable?

laptops are better because you can move around with them

Post by: LauraPelt on March 04, 2009, 06:39:41 am: I like having both. The laptop is great for web stuff, but when I get into Photoshop and other graphics, I prefer my desktop for the larger monitor size, the peripherals and the desk space. I think I have the best of both!!

I would like to have both. It would be nice to have a simple desktop to use at home. Although I have to admit that most of the time at home I use the laptop while laying on the couch... like right now! 8)

Post by: Jmclark on March 07, 2009, 02:15:46 pm: I know a bunch of people probably won't agree with me, but a desktop and iPhone is good enough. I mean, having an iPhone in your pocket is a lot better than lugging a laptop around, plus you can go online anywhere, unlike with laptops.

I custom built my desktop 8 years ago, and am able to keep it relevant just by spending around 100 dollars a year for parts.. But with a laptop, you are stuck buying a brand new one every couple years.. Side note.. Who likes to rock the party?

For one, desktops are good for home. I can store a lot of stuff in them and they cool off a lot better and run longer than a lap-top.

Two, laptops are cool for travel and free w-ifi in some establishments. (coffee shops, libraries, etc.)
