:crybaby2:How horrible to survive the stroke only to die later! You must feel sadden & shocked at just what happened. I don't know if this would comfort you but it may have been for the best that she passed quickly.Sometimes it's as agonizing to watch a love one slowly dying after a stroke or heart attack & Dr.'s & you are powerless to save your love one.You don't have to worry about your sister anymore, think of it as her true freedom from a limited shell that could no longer serve it's purpose. She now needs no prayers or tears from this earth bound realm. Now, she is the true essence of pure light & love. star: I'll send you a stream of positive energy, to help you get through this sad time. When times get rough & you can't take it anymore; just look up into the night sky;to the brightest shining star among stars; b/c that's your sister, winking right back at you! ;)

:'( praying for you all...

Angie, my heart goes out to you in this terribly sad time. I will be praying for you and your family. I just lost my father after watching him suffer for months ( actually years). There is no words that can comfort you but this was sent to me after my father passed and thought it might bring you some comfort as it did me.
Togetherness
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Laugh as we always laughed together.
Play, Smile, Think of me, Pray for me.
Let my name be the household word it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is an unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight?
I am but waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is past;
nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before -
only better, infinitely happier and forever -
We will be one together with God.

I'm so sorry to hear that your family is in my prayers.

Lean on Jesus he is the great comforter!
How is leaning upon a deceased person speciously attributed with supernatural 'powers', (and allegedly being a 'zombie' briefly), meant to be comforting?
-
I realize these so-called discussion boards are "enter at your own risk," but is it necessary to comment with your views (to which you are entitled) on a post from someone who has lost a loved one and is, by their own choice, asking for prayers? Everyone knows by this time that you are challenging Christians (xtians) to provide tangible and irrefutable proof that the Christian God does not exist. Personally, I feel no need to try and prove anything. My reaction and my view of your post is that it is at the least ungentlemanly and at the most extremely distasteful.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I will keep praying. Just remember FC member do care

THANK JESUS AND GET SAVED TODAY
I find your post to be offensive and while you're 'free' to post such in or out of this context, so too am I able to dissent such evangelism after an expression of loss.
@"aggie" - it's difficult to lose someone you care for and no words can make up for such a loss, even these. Eventually, we go on - with or without lessened pain.

I find your post(s) to be offensive and while you're 'free' to post such in or out of this context, so too am I able to dissent such evangelism after an expression of loss. In fact, you made two separate evangelistic 'responses' to the same post, (therefore, so did I).

So sorry for your loss. Will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

oh man i'm so sorry. man, i dont know why people have to die so suddenly. :bs:
-
I know that it is late but I just wanted to encourage you and your family and let you know that God will give you strength just ask him for it and will keep you and your family in my prayers. I may not know how this feel with losing a sister but both of my parents passed away with a massive heart attack. It will take time but know God is a comforter and he will be with you and your family through it all. God Bless you.

:crybaby2: so sorry to hear that, my condolences to the family. May god be with all of you at this time of sorrow and always. :'( :angel11:
-
My deepest sympathy to you. It's hard to lose loved ones. I'm still grieving loss of my husband 14 months ago. Time eventually heals albeit very slowly. Peace.

How do you dare ! at time of sorrow and you have to come in :BangHead: She asked for prayers and we pray to whom and however we want !
-
condolences to you and your family, you are definitely in my prayers :angel12:

I am so sorry to hear about her sister passing, my prays are with you.

How dare I "come in" to ask another person, (not the OP), about their evangelistic remark? I dare because questioning such preconceptions as they arise cannot be censored by 'religious indignation'. Just because not many religious adherents "dare" to question their own assumptions, that doesn't mean others must follow suit.
She asked for prayers and we pray to whom and however we want !
Yes, anyone who wishes to engage in intercessory magical evocational rituals ("prayers") to hypothetical 'deities' still has that option. My questions do not take that option away and merely inquired how "leaning on them" was meant to be comforting.
I also 'dared' to post this to "aggie", instead: 'it's difficult to lose someone you care for and no words can make up for such a loss, even these. Eventually, we go on - with or without lessened pain.'
-
I am so sorry to hear this! You must be heartbroken. You might find the book "How to Survive the Loss of a Love" (Colgrove, Bloomfield and McWilliams) very comforting. It's helped me many times in the past. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.
-
So sorry Aggie. Remember to care for yourself as you take of the others in your family.
