My childhood was wonderful.  I spend most of the time with my cousins and it was great.  We talked about the silliest things we did as young children.

Oh definitely. I was a teen of the 70's and remember how much more innocent things were than they are today. People acted much more civilized too and respected others. I'm not, by any means, saying things were perfect but still......

I think we all think about the past like that from time to time.  Whenever I think about the past it usually isn't for enjoyment but rather to remember my mistakes and try to learn from them.

I've definately been thinking about the 80's lately. I liked the programs that were on back then, and I also remember the family reunions we had.

I have great memories from childhood but I don't spend a lot of time looking back as much as looking forward. A woman at our church said you need to be happy in the present, if you aren't and spend all your time looking back, just like Lot's wife you'll turn into a pillar of salt!  I  do know someone who spends all her time talking about "remember when" and I don't think she is doing anything in the present but watching TV and wishing she could go back in time which makes me sad for her

No, I don't want to go back.  I love my lifestyle as it is now.  I have a sense of freedom that I didn't experience when I was younger and I now have it all...

on my terms.   Life is good and I feel incredibly blessed.

I remember the past, I would do a few things different! But I don't need to go back in the past.

There were some very good things about the past but I wouldn't want to do it again.  I would really like a fountain coke again but even the drug store where Harry Truman served fountain drinks doesn't have them anymore  :BangHead:

I just turned 50 in October and I am finding that I think back in my life much more frequently now, its nice to remember special times with the loved ones that are no longer with us in body, but the memories let them live on forever in our hearts.

I'm 28 years old, so to some I don't have much of a past.  However, I do find moments when I am in awe of what I've already done.  Or more often, I'm in awe of how much time as past since I was in a certain situation.  Example, it bloggles the mind that I've been out of college for 6 years.   Amazing.  I recently married, and seriously he and I both have moments when we just exclaim "Gosh, we're husband and wife!"
I love the music of the past...adore the 60s and the 70s.  I am a music lover, but something about the classics makes them last forever.  Maybe because I was raised on them.  Way to go mom!  :peace: :peace:
I think it's important to think of you past, learn from it.  The present should be one's focus, and certainly we have the ability to shape one's future.  But shouldn't what we've experienced, even missed out on, aid in developing goals, expectations, or what to avoid in our future?
